Groomed individuals usually defends those who groomed and manipulated them. It's a fun social experiment trick, most anons here moved to political stuff when they were horny teenagers after all and were told that left wants them to not have sex while also saying they want to ban porn. I live right by Columbine. Have my whole life. Was in Elementary nearby, and we went into fucking lockdown mode. All I can remember is huddling under my desk in the dark, with an endless parade of sirens going by when Columbine happened.
I will say that the shooting deeply impacted and altered not just the community where it happened, but the world in general. We've had school shootings before the Columbine Massacre. But this one exposed a lot of imperfections in American society. Unironically they were just kids. I can't remember if one of them was 18 but it doesn't matter, nobody knows shit at 18 anyway.
Over the next couple of weeks, and even years, I watched the high school across town become a talking point, a symbol, and a monument. We'd hold a day of remembrance at school every single year grades K-12. I think sometimes (I can't remember) the district gave us the day off.
What's weird is that it wasn't only until maybe 5-6 years ago I came across the footage of Eric and Dylan killing people, the bodies, and the bodies of the killers themselves. It's difficult to watch kids filled with such sick hate gunning down other teenagers. I've seen some heinous things on the internet but the Columbine shit is really hard to see.
One last thing: If you're from Colorado, or have lived here long enough -- especially around Littleton -- you don't joke about Columbine. Nobody cares how edgy your joke is, you don't do it.
