Miles Morales doesn't sell. His comics never break into the top 10 or even the top 20. His game flopped. His movies only broke even due to the animation budget but still grossed less the Andrew Garfield's movies and everyone hated those. Twenty years. Marvel has spent twenty years trying to convince everyone Miles is Spider-Man and it just didn't take. Ben Reilly got the same treatment and they dropped him like a bad habit the moment it was clear the fans were rejecting him. Miles' skin color was the only thing that kept him from sharing Ben's fate and not even that is enough anymore.
