In a way, yes. They're obsessed with 40K in particular as opposed to other hobbies or creative works because you can completely ignore them. Literally nothing burns a troons ass more then people ignoring them. Thay'd rather have an angry mob of chuds throwing tomatoes at them then have people not engage with them. Other things like vidya and TV they can infiltrate, smear their shit all over it, and leave you with either having to stomach their shit or just accept that thing you liked is now dead. This is an acceptable outcome for troons, if you won't let them put a scat pride flag on your sand castle, the satisfaction they get from kicking the castle over is a decent consolation. With 40K you can just completely ignore their nonsense and still paint minis and play games with friends. All their gay and retarded lore changes? Not canon, and I am the source. I don't care what some GW fag says it's not canon. Rainbow hair shows up at the table top with xer's MAP pride painted female space marine? Just don't play with them. If they fart and scream to the store about the hitler chuds not playing with them, literally somebody in your crew has to have a table. New edition comes out that says you have to shout trans rights every turn or lose by default? PDF's of old editions are easily obtained. Ugly non-canon models? The 3d printer goes burr.
The nature of 40K effectively allows you to create a parallel community that they have no way of stopping you from doing. And the simple fact that you can just ignore them in this way with no recourse drives them absolutely bonkers.
