I can't imagine being naive enough to uncritically accept every excuse Haruki makes for his lecherous behavior. Any reader who actually accepts the idea that Kazusa is his "one true love" is operating on the same level of reading comprehension as the people who characterize Lolita as a love story. I'm begging you simpletons, please, just try reading against the grain for once in your lives.
White Album 2 is clearly intended to be a story about how the grass is always greener on the other side. The same story could just as easily have been told with King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn taking the place of Haruki and Kazusa, and Setsuna the spurned Catherine of Aragorn. To imagine that Haruki could ever find lasting happiness in the arms of an adultress is to blind oneself to the historical reality that Anne Boleyn met her end at the executioner's axe, only to be followed by a procession of future wives that could only entertain the despot's whims for so long. So too will Kazusa inevitably be replaced by a younger, more exciting plaything once Haruki's love for her dims to embers.
Perhaps the reader, seeing himself in Haruki and wishing for that passionate flame of new love for Kazusa to be real, should examine what character flaws he may share with the tyrants of yore. These are the sins of pride, greed, lust, and gluttony, and thus it should be clear that siding with Kazusa is quite literally siding with the devil.
