Sonic CD...
...I didn't enjoy it at all at first, it just seemed like a subpar title compared to the OG trilogy, because I was playing it as if it was Sonic 2... but then I focused on exploring, travelling to the past and destroying the generators, and when I decided to play it like that it's like the whole thing opened up! It suddently became one of my favorite Sonic experiences.

>If you're not trying to destroy the machines in the past.
This is literally what made Sonic CD go from nothing special to me... to one of my favorites.

I hated it when I tried to play it like it was Sonic 2, but when I focused more on exploring, travelling in time and finding the robot generators to destroy them in the past, making sure I got a good future in every level, it's like the whole thing opened up. Do I still prefer the regular Sonic style from titles like Sonic 2? Absolutely... but this has its own appeal too, and I'd say it's good.
