lol this is revisionist history cope. By the end o the war, Lincoln was like the rest of the Northern abolitionist NIMBY retards who wanted to give blacks equal citizenship and voting rights. In fact, John Wilkes Booth was present for Lincoln's final public address where he advocated for black suffrage, which is ultimately what made Booth resolve to assassinate the President. Northerners were just as spiteful and naive back then as they are today. They believed they could punish the South by giving blacks equal rights while keeping blacks out of their own states with various Jim Crow laws known as "black codes." They really were that retarded, and thought turning half the country into the equivalent of modern-day Zimbabwe would have been good for the USA in the long run. It was only thanks to groups like the KKK and the Red Shirts that the South didn't descend into complete chaos during the Reconstruction era. Then 50 years later, D.W. Griffith made "The Birth of a Nation," which was screened by President Wilson at the White House. Ironically this movie inspired Northerners to LARP as Southern Klansmen in the 1910's and 20's once blacks and Catholic immigrants started flooding their cities looking for jobs during WWI. Northerners deserve the current state of cities like D.C., Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, the Bronx, Harlem, Oakland, Cleveland, etc.
