fights rarely last long enough for philip's SP loss to be a concern, so while yes you'll want to keep an eye on it, he'll be fine from basic clash-winning
if you find yourself really struggling with philipclair's SP for whatever reason you can just run him with only his base EGO, because base EGO cant corrode so nothing bad happens when you hit -45SP
