As three separate entities now. I don't know what's going on by separating the soul from the player now. But it's definitely clear that Kris is rejecting your control over him. He doesn't want to cooperate. It used to feel like a bit of a gag, but now it's definitely the core of the game and will probably drive the plot from here on.
Toby was already asking similar meta questions with Undertale (mainly Sans and Asriel pointing it out), but this one is almost trying to get the MC Kris/Soul to react directly to the player as a character. It's very curious. The idea of what you want and what the character you play actually wants being in conflict is very disturbing. People love to torment their character... now I'm kinda perturbed from that.
