>That's one of the many grim examples of how companies factor in legal costs into business costs. So long as paying the fine is more profitable in the end than operating legally, paying fines just becomes the price of doing business.
What's even better is that megacorps are doing the exact same thing with their crops too. So you know how you're supposed to perform crop rotation to make sure that you don't drain the resources of the land entirely and cause another dust bowl? Well corporations found out it's actually more profitable to just not do that and import more and more fertilizers every year while paying the flat, unchanging fee from when crop rotation was made law after the disaster of the dust bowl. Eventually they won't be able to pump enough fertilizer into the dirt to cover it since plants need more than just fertilizer to grow well. In the next 5-10 years most of the crops growing in America currently will be wiped out because of this doom loop. Thank god for the free market enabling our future doom!

Because it's the white collar class that's being replaced by machines lol. And they have more/better resources to complain about it (they won't save their jobs anyways)
The billionaire class will simply push everyone into abject poverty instead. You'll either have a cushy CEO job, wageslave at a restaurant, or you'll be unemployed and starving. A planet of serfs dutifully serving their corporate Lords.
