For all the writer's masturbation, he simply ripped off 2 P5 story arcs. 3 if you count the Kumi hostage bit as like Cognitive Haru but gave Riko the Rich Girl traits.
And maybe the first writer would've done more with Shun's character than Dude Ramen.
