A lot of them are background characters. Wolf Hunters has a bunch of clanners that break with Annie K when she goes full retard, even more full retard than attacking Terra with 2 battalions of mechs.One goes to Solaris where he becomes a contender and falls in love with an infantry girl. Another is an Elemental that joins a mercenary company with her nova and seduces the fuck out of the commander. She literally sets up a romantic picnic disguised as a spy mission because she read about it in romance novels.
There's another classic one in the DA where there's a massive guy who is the son of a JF Elemental that invaded Skye in the Jihad and was like "No. Fuck this solahma stuff. I'm gonna 9ft cottage-core with this farmer who thinks he's a mountain climber."
This sort of thing was the norm. It's only in ilClan do you see vast swaths of the population suddenly start going "Gee, being a clanner is fucking great!" It's the absolute worst part of them trying to round off the edges of how shit and alien clanner society is. Especially doing it in the Border Protectorate where the Iron Guard are from. Jesus Fucking Christ, it's so retarded.
Well, other than absolute shithole periphery worlds that are comparable to the Kluster. I remember the dudes on Apollo still being like I CHALLENGE YOU TO A TRIAL OF BULLSHIT! even after the Clanners left. But then, the Falcons were always the best at converting their worlds, and were the only ones who didn't really stop and make their little enclaves like the Bears.

Depends on how big a dick you got in the pecking order. Most use standards unless they're like a Star Captain or higher. It's not a bad thing, because otherwise you'd have newly-christened mechwarriors be the poor fucks picking through the omnipod leftovers after everyone else gets their customs together.
There's also the way omnis are supposed to be used vs. how super major characters use them. Omnis are supposed to swap out according the battle type. Have a Black Hawk and you're vehicle hunting solahma scum? Take a D. Having a duel against a single asshole for a rank up? Take an H. Want to put the fear of god into the elemental points holding the city? Take the L.
Major characters tend to optimize their machine to their fighting style instead, which winds up just being the same as a custom and pointless as an omni.

The only actually new clan founded was the Stone Lions who were a rebrand of the Homeworld Hell's Horses. It's more like a rebrand while castigating remnants than anything else. Every other clan is ratcheting the number down.
Well, I guess Jade Wolf was also kinda a thing for 5 minutes but that was also a rebrand of Falcons after they Absorbed the Wolves.
And also the Sea Foxes rebranding to Diamond Sharks and then back to Sea Fox.
The point is, you only really lose clans after Nicky. It's just that they change names sometimes...
