That’s how I did it. In the Summer of Love I decided I should get into guns. I come from a left leaning family and I’m a friendless loser, so I was entirely on my own and even had to keep it to myself. Literally just go to any indoor range, rent out a gun, watch that dumbass video every indoor range forces you to watch about range etiquette, and just ask questions whenever you’re stuck on something. You do get asswipes at LGS/ranges but most of the employees there are chill and helpful people, and would much rather get asked questions by new gun guys than by emergency services, so don’t be afraid to annoy the employees with questions. Explain to them that you’re new to guns and they’ll be more understanding and maybe even excited.
Getting into guns yourself can be a lonely and disheartening experience, but you learn to appreciate the solitude of it. I actually prefer going out to the range by myself. It’s fun going with others obviously, but there’s no greater peace in life than having a range bay all to yourself
