Under current NATO agreements, donations to Ukraine count as defense spending towards their obligations. The euros were going to be required to spend that money anyway, and now it's being spent in a way where it's actually going to get used for purpose instead of sitting in a warehouse for decades before getting sold for scrap and replaced.
And the US? The US is going to make a fucking profit off this war.
