Kairi is written perfectly well in KH1&2, and she literally does fight at the end of KH2 when everyone is rushing up the tower to stop Xehanort (for half a second in a cutscene, but the implication is that she continues to fight off-screen)
The reason Aqua is written shittily is because BBS as a whole was written shittily (as far as i remember, the rumour was that Nomura was busy with Versus13 and sent the Osaka team all his notes with half-finished plot ideas and told them to finish it themselves and make it make sense. They instead just copy&pasted those notes straight up with 0 editing, which is why BBS is such a clusterfuck of half-baked ideas that lead nowhere)
Anyway, the series ended with webm related.
