Sometimes you don't even need to explain it if the degeneracy is in plain sight. A lot of the criticism around Barney boils down to "It's dumb and I don't like it!" But a lot of people agreed with that criticism, and the hate around that show became its legacy. Can't wait for you to start singing the praises of that shitshow now.
