Many bikes are no longer made for what was their main customer base, humble working class people. Instead, people are now casually dropping 6k on a bike. The market has changed enormously. It's now dentists and business owners who use it as tax write off. People who actually are into cycling generally don't ride the blingy ridiculously priced bikes.

Ironically it's the less sporty people who buy the sportiest bikes, because a 20-30 something semi athlete who isn't sponsored will be riding a far cheaper bike. Also funny how trek and a few other major bike companies are failing yet the smaller bike brands who offer a more competitively priced bike are booming. Gee, I wonder if there's a correlation. It's unsustainable for the bikes to cost so much and we're already seeing considerable price cuts from brands like trek. Though it doesn't help their bikes have been eclipsed by the competition, they're c tier bikes now imo.

I was reading about old timey cycling as a sport, and it turns out that track cycling used to be a really popular marquee event, far more popular than road cycling, especially in the united states

Fishing is a cheap man thing here at least in FL, you can buy a rod from walmart for like $20 and grab some bait at the local shop for less than $10. There are so many estuaries and local waters that it's legal to fish at without a license. The only real money drop is in deepwater and gulf fishing.
Most neighborhoods have retention ponds with fish you can fuck around at as well, really just have to watch for gators.

Short stage, could be modern at just 100 miles

I have read nine (9) books since the start of the tour. It's less impressive when you understand that 7 of them were the Harry Potter series, and the other two are much larger but still pulpy fantasy in general. For the Vuelta, it'll be WW2 history only. but I still have 3 books of this series to finish first. I hope to be on the final book by the timer the riders set foot in Paris

I took meds last year whilst doing a lot of cycling. They tanked my performance by approximately 10% and it got worse so I inevitably stopped. It worked extremely well for some periods of time, I was studying math and physics, obsessed with rocketry and was going to start a degree. Then the medicine caused significant spells of depression, extreme brainfog, I ate like a pig and got to 85kg. I couldn't think, have fun, I was extremely addictive to food and computer games and nicotine. It scrubs off your dopamine and makes you very hollow and no energy. I tried different meds and nothing worked well for me. Tried anti-depressant and couldn't handle it.

I am off meds for a few months now and the side effects have mostly left. I am struggling to sleep well and going a little crazy a few moments but I have a lot of energy and ambition again. If normal people feel like how I was on those medicines I pity them. I enjoyed cognitive having focus for a month or so and hope the ADHD meds deliver a similar state.

I think I will always be a little crazy and I won't take medicines. I restrict myself from society because I'll do stupid crazy stuff as I did before. I intend to just cycle and spend energy on that so I can sleep and don't go so crazy because I'm not pent up. 20-30 hr weeks ideally on the bike by next year. They wanted me on meds basically forever but as long as I don't take drugs or drink alcohol again and continue restricting my behaviour I see this as a manageable long term strategy.

Signed when he was 18, I generally know the rider compositions at that age who will provide a good strong rider. Sometimes you're let down with a low potential like pic rel, almost identical stats at their young age and probably 1 in 5 of these sort of riders will make it big. Occasionally you'll see a pure gem, they're usually 72 mountain at 18 and they are 100% going to be a top level racer. Usually a fairly balanced 68-71 18 year older is a good signing, at worse it will be pic rel sort of well rounded rider who is still useful for a tour winning team.

I am obsessed with the u23 races and generally will aim to sign at least 1 rider at the end of l'avenier because in I want to keep that race relevant lol, signing the winner if they have no contract. Generally the riders best don't win but you can see stat composition within top 20 of a future tour winner most certainly. The u23 giro is a good race to monitor but they're already under contract, mostly 1 year u23 contracts though. Cobbled races for u23 are really retarded because a lot of the time a sprinter will win instead of cobble rider, but sometimes a ridiculous 75 cobble u23 wins.

And of course just obsessively monitoring the database for riders and having a 200 rider shortlist.

I do not believe that it's that accurate. It gives the potential but many times it hasn't correlated with high potential, or I'll get a lower potential rider and he'll bloom and come out good. That is just my experience. I will look through riders myself and assess their potential. Like you can see their resistence and how rounded they are and generally that will indicate potential. Riders will one insane high stat generally won't come out that good. But a rider with lesser, but more rounded stats, in my experience will thrive.

Regens are really only a few 'types'. Like you'll see practically identical riders in different saves, so you look out for what you know will be a strong rider. Best rider I had was Andry Shpak from Ukraine. He was a 73 mountains, 69 hills and 69 recovery and resistence aged 18. I know to look out for this particular set of stats because he is a certain regen. Same save I picked up a very similar mexican with almost identical stats at 18 and he's progressive practically the same. They are the 'same' rider in regen world, and as Shpak was ending his career this kid spawned as the replacement so 1 of these type of rider is generally present in every save.

It's the same with punchers and cobble riders. Practically identical riders exist and their potentials vary only a little, but I can have 3 or 4 of the same rider on the team. Always something like 82-85 hills, 76-80 mountain, 75-80 cobbles, high resistance, high downhill, sprint from 74-76, acceleration over 80. This is a rider I can spot really easily they have hill around 72-74 and mountain 69-71 from 18-19 but ALWAYS a higher hill stat. And cobble is generally 67-70 at the same ages.

I had all 4 of these on the same team at one point, basically they are the same phenotype regens with minor variations. All had the same stats at 18-20 years old. Figure out these phenotypes, remember their stats are given ages and then look for them specifically.
