I think so. The Eagles are just too stacked relative to the rest of the division. The biggest question mark for them isn’t whether they’re a division champion but if the losses on the defensive side of the ball has them outside of championship class.

>Because Peyton can't rely on his running, he has to perfect other thing things like timng, accuracy (and obviously mental aspects like calling the right plays, protections, reading the defense etc.). In other words he has a lesser margin of error because players like Lamar have that fall-back.
A counterargument is there's been plenty of rushing QBs but none of them have the elite passing stats of Lamar.

Also, I don't like the terms you and Nick Wright are using. Rushing QBs should not be confused with scrambling QBs. Lamar is a rushing QB who will rush for yards if it's open. Rodgers, Mahomes, and Young are scrambling QBs who throw while scrambling.

There's only a handful of QBs who could throw while moving and maintain accuracy, it's way harder than passing in the pocket hence the reason only a handful of QBs do it. A HC would bench their QB if they attempted half these throws especially throws across your body which is a big no-no

That's not really a counterargument. There are plenty of pocket passers with shit stats too (most of them). Lamar is the best of his kind, but it's driving me nuts to have to defend what to me seems obvious β€” in some hypothetical world that doesn't exist and doesn't matter, if Lamar had Peyton's athleticism, he would not be the same surgical all-time passer that Peyton was.
>>150051849
Mahomes' dad is an American black (on average ~15-20% Euro admixture). His mom is white. American whites have, at the median, 0% nonwhite admixture. Therefore Mahomes more than likely is >50% Euro. The correct answer btw is that he is neither white nor black; he's mulatto.

>White QBs > Black QBs. You can throw away all metrics and analysis it really is as simple as that.
Here is the foodchain of QBs:

1. Scrambling QBs
QBs who can maintain accuracy while scrambling are on a different level like Rodgers, Young, and Mahomes. Maintaining accuracy while scrambling is significantly harder than throwing from a stationary position in the pocket. They are athletic enough to rush but they choose not to and instead just use their legs to extend plays.

2. Pocket passing >white QBs
QBs like Burrow, Brady, and Manning are in this category. They rely on reading defenses and timing, but if anything goes wrong they're fucked since they don't have the athletism to extend the play and probably lack the arm talent to throw while moving.

3. Rushing QBs aka >black QBs
QBs like Allen, Jalen, Vick, and Lamar rely on their rush threat which changes the way defenses cover them. They are limited as passers.

I get what you're saying if you mean in theory the scrambling QBs are the best. In theory the best QB combines the pocket passer's passing and brain, with the scrambler's arm, athleticism etc.
Kind of how in theory the best NBA players are 7ft+ with Steph's shooting ability and Kyrie's on-ball skills etc.
But in practice those players don't exist, and in practice the actual best is MJ.

Congrats, you picked an arbitrary number that """proves""" your point. In almost every case throwing more is correlated with losing, that's just how football works.
For Mahomes it's a little weird because he hasn't had a great run game to close out games with, and Reid schemes him easy high-percentage completions that act as an extension of the run game to kill off wins.

I mean, not really. The average pass attempts in 2024 was 33. It's not that far away from the league average. The point being when Jalen is asked to throw too many times he has a losing record. But let's ignore the win/loss. Look at how few times he even throws for 38 attempts. The team doesn't trust him throwing.

Hurts doesn't care about stats. The Eagles don't care about stats. They care about winning. Hurts does what he needs to to win, and does so on an incredibly consistent basis.

Swifty, you're going to be banished from Chiefs kingdom with post like this. The Chiefs have been dominating the league for the last 7 years. The adversity they faced isn't new to them.

Burrow was 3-0 against Mahomes and beat him in the playoffs. Mahomes met him again in the playoffs and there was a huge amount of pressure in that game. Chiefs beat them down and that's the last we heard of the Bengals "rivalry". The Eagles situation isn't nothing like that, we already beat their ass in 2022. All they did was make the score even between us. Chiefs veterans aren't worried about the Eagles.

The Chiefs are a bad matchup for the Eagles. If both teams are healthy the Chiefs are going to beat them 9 times out of 10. A run-first team is not going to beat a pass first team. Chiefs will shutdown the run and dare Jalen to win a shootout with Mahomes. He's not capable of doing that when Mahomes has weapons and a stable OL as we saw in the 2022 Superbowl. If Rashee Rice has a delayed suspension the Chiefs wiin 35-10. Screenshot this post.

They've just started a rebuild and are looking to get younger and keep a bunch of draft picks. Derek Carr retiring really helped out their cap situation.
