seriously thinking of buying the most aero rim brakes bike I can and a set of wide wheels
I'm not convinced about disk brakes outside of rainy days
what are my options? what frames can fit 28 to 30mm tires? do o have to go second hand for a canyon aero road? should I just say fuck it and go disk?
it all seems overly expensive and not user friendly

We in a pretty shit situation. Old nice frames with rimbreaks can't take broad tires and new frames are all diskbreaks. And the few modern framesets with rimbreaks are budget crap.

Canyon Aeroad, Cannondale Supersix, Specialized SL6, Cervelo S3/S5 are great options on the used market, as are Focus Izalco Max, Trek Emonda SLR and Look Huez RS. I think most 2015-2020 frames can clear 28s/30s โ€“ for example my Look Huez RS 785 can clear 28s easily, it's the brakes that are often the limiter. EE brakes by Cane Creek can fit 30s no problem.

Visma won. Made it less fun, turned down Jonas' dope to ensure it was a no competition win. Now the french hate UAE and the 'goat' which is a travesty for the arrogant little prick who just wants to be loved by everyone. Fish is unironically the david vs goliath and the fans dearly want him to beat him one last time.

No one other than twitter fanboys and commentators like poogacar. Probably one of the most unlikable riders in the past 25 years. Doesn't have the charm of drive Armstrong has, doesn't have the robotic clinical hungry nature Froome had, doesn't have the seething manlet aura Remco has. He isn't a very complex character, he seems very 1 dimensional and boring off the bike. The fake joking and banter that tries to copy the likes of Sagan is just really cringe.

He has no interesting or redeeming characteristics other than winning in such a unbelievably dominant fashion, crushing his and the fans spirits. He is a scourge on the sport and the sooner he's gone the sooner we get kino back. And I suspect UAE will suffer immensely because it's a team of complete retards and without King Retard to win everything by attacking at 80km or taking 2 minutes on a mountain, team is nothing special. Better hope Del Burrito finds another 20IQ points as well as the DS otherwise team goes pop.

Careers will probably mirror sports like football where they peak at 25 and retire around 30. Very few hitters from previous generation are active anymore so we're definitely in that new era, and it'll soon be clear what that looks like longevity wise of course but it will be interesting. Juniors around me are doing ridiculous training and very, very long hour weeks. I probably did 10-12, they're doing 15-20, sometimes more! Insane for a young growing body. I wonder how many will be stunted because of it. At least with cycling it is less important to some degree than football because you can make a name in amateur ranks by winning national races and you get to prove yourself against professionals in the nation champs. Knight was slow to develop, he was always small but riders around him from same team like Vernon and a few others who didn't go pro were already moving onto semi pro teams and national programs. But there's still a considerable powergap from amateur to professional, only have to see Langelotti from Ineos to see how going from a smaller team to the WT completely changes you.

Question for the home mechanics, has anyone ever had to put loctite on the derailleur B screw? Over the past couple weeks I notice a grinding when I shift into the largest cog, and each time it seems that my B screw has almost completely backed itself out. I've been riding for a while and only have ever touched the B screw when installing a new derailleur or cassette. Yet now it seems to keep coming loose. So I am wondering if it needs a bit of loctite or is this the symptom of a more nefarious issue.

Dzieล„ dobry and welcome to our last /WORLD TOUR WINE/ (bier) for the sensational Tour de Pologne !! We had action down to the wire this week, with another legendary performance from handsome man Brandon MCNULTY to take the stage and GC victory!

Today's beer is brewed just down the road from today's ITT in Wieliczka.

Okocim O.K. Beer ($3.59)

This is a Polish Pilsner, brewed by Okocim since 1945. Pours a light honey gold with fine white mousse which fades quickly. The nose is a bit flat - just the barest hint of grass and malt. The palate is clean, lightly sweet, pleasing grassy hops.

Just fine, well put together. The highlight of the beer is the can, which I really love. We had four (4) biers for the Tour de Pologne, none of which were really great, but none of which were bad (maybe that imperial stout was...)

Look out for another sensational edition of /WTW/ next weekend with the return of the much-lauded Hamburg CYCLASSICS race!

What's your budget?

If you want a road bike, I would go for drop bars and a reasonable groupset (Shimano 105 or SRAM Rival at least). A modern frame will give you ability to mount wider tires (28mm or above is a huge boost in comfort and speed compared to 21 or 23mm). Disc or rim doesn't matter that much. Aluminum is harsh, but cheap.

I had no idea what you meant, but I have one near me. It's not a ski resort, but it has a ski lift that takes you to the top of a forested hill and you mountain bike down. Never went because the fees are absurd if you don't bring your own equipment especially bike, around 120 or more for a days lift ticket and bike rental. I'd still like to go try it

A few ITT said he looked like shit and looked depressed through '24 Giro, which he did. Dude is a weak mind in terms of in ability. Most could just cruise to easy wins. You're mid 20's, multimillionaire, about to smash various records. Yet you're 'bored'? Not as if he wins absolutely everything with ease anyway like Amstel or Roubaix.

Imagine being a whiney bitch about winning doing the best job you could imagine earning many millions. What an ungrateful faggot. I'd be racing until I was 40 if I were him.

Ekoi seems like hot shit right now, really popular, seemingly well priced and apparently good quality. Also look for crash replacement. Some brands will give you a new one for free if your destroy yours in a crash which is a nice touch. MIPS generally is the meta for helmets and most brands will use the MIPS. It genuinely works and makes crashing much safer, it allows slight rotation and movement on impact so it's not direct ground > helmet > head. It takes some of the impact. Van Rysel helmets look nice too to be honest and tehy're well priced. I think trek/specialized/poc is generally overpriced slop but I know trek do a crash replacement so you bring your mangled helmet, they will give you a new one for free. Damn that ekoi is sexy

I do the Figueira da Foz to Lisbon ride quite often, I can show you my usual route or a more scenic one if you want.
IMO avoid n109 if you can, the Figueira - Leiria stretch is very dangerous. dunno why so may retards use it with so many good alternatives.
basically if you want low traffic then take Estrada Atlรขntica and then n115 until Bucelas then Loures. There are a few good alternatives after ร“bidos, just do not head to N1 ever ever.

On my rim brake bike, 140mm with a 70mm reach handlebar, as the Campag shifters are pretty short. On my disc brake bike with the Sram Red E1 shifters, 120mm (75mm handlebar reach). I have been thinking about switching to 130mm on it but it's a wash.
Anyway today's workout was supposed to be 3x10min at 400-410W but I could only do 3x8min. There's some mental hurdle for me when it comes to long intervals above threshold, it's very hard for me to continue pushing through when it's so uncomfortable. Give me long 20min+ FTP or sweetspot intervals instead any day of the week.

After participating in my last race, the Giro Ciclistico Valle D'Aosta, and the associated death of Samuele Privitera, I decided to end my career as a professional cyclist.

After last year's Tour of Austria, where another rider died, I already had serious doubts about racing and was on the verge of quitting. Nevertheless, I continued and largely suppressed what had happened. Unfortunately, after the Tour of Austria, I never became the racer I once was again. I became increasingly concerned about my safety and felt increasingly uncomfortable in races, which in the medium term meant that I was never able to reproduce in races what I had worked so hard to achieve in training. Towards the end, races were unfortunately just an annoying side effect that you had to accept if you wanted to earn money from cycling. I had completely lost the fun of racing, and the more chaotic a race became, the more brutally I broke down mentally. Unfortunately, without the mind, the body only functions poorly. What happened in the Aosta Valley was ultimately just confirmation of my decision, and I can see how well I've been doing since I quit. I regret that I was unable to live up to some expectations as a professional cyclist and that my collaboration with Alpecin is now coming to an end. Nevertheless, I am certain that it was the right decision to stop.

Nonetheless, I am very grateful for the opportunity I was given by my team Alpecin Deceuninck and Zwift. I was able to learn from the best cyclists in the world and got to know many nice people on the team. In addition, I was able to significantly improve my physical condition thanks to my trainer Philipp Walsleben, even though I was never really able to show it in the races. I felt that this team is very aware of its responsibility towards young athletes and I never felt pressured in any way. I always enjoyed the training and the improvement process very much and hopefully I will find the time to cycle again occasionally in the future.

i did 600 for two weeks
my legs hurt
my average cadence on rides is like 69 because the roads are so steep im literally grinding 40 rpm to stay below threshold
also i found my rear tire has been deflating 50% after 2 hours which is why my average speed is so slow
