If we can ask for wotc to come up with a new plane, I think a swampy wasteland plane would be sick. Think something like STALKER, aesthetically. It's not all swamps, but forests and mountains are dirty and grimy, islands have dark ominous water, plains are waterlogged with sludge, and swamps are just nasty with dead trees and vines and shit. Lots of cutthroat survivalist types (think pitiless plunderer and its various arts, not cheerleaders from the horror movie set), a few more noble/heroic types who make what pitiful safe-haven hamlets they can. Keep it separate from innistrad by leaning away from vampires and werewolves and various monsters like that and lean more into beasts and horrors. You can have fucked up anomalies as spells, traps, taplands with upside, that kind of thing. And also give the plane rudimentary firearms because that would be sick. Say that nightstalkers from Dominaria made their way onto the plane through the omenpaths or whatever. Come on, it would be sick.

His entire personality is antithetical to white, and his mechanics would have been better if he were URG. Also "Gotta Go Fast" is just a forced meme - it's never said in the games, it's from the 4kids theme song and referenced once in the movies. The same thing could have been achieved with a flavorful "Double Boost," but that highlights a problem that mechanically MtG Sonic isn't rewarding the player's built momentum by making you some deadly, agile force, which is the entire point of the gameplay. It's just "LOLFAST tribal xD" that always gets STOPPED by a 1/1!

But he's Grixis because lol bad guy colors and he makes a villainous choice because lol bad guy. Why this card? I know, so the SL would be sort-of worth the price, but the Piko Piko hammer doesn't make her invincible, it more helps her strength and mobility. If anything, this should have been a Sword of X and Y.

Why the fuck is this Myr Battlesphere? If they're that hard-pressed for a Heroes enemy that makes pawns, the Egg Bishop is there, or just a generic "Egg Pawn Squad." Or just use a different source. I wouldn't even say the Hammer is that iconic, or if they really wanted to include it for some reason, just print Darksteel again and use the Heavy version.

I can tell it was made in early 2019 because this power level is fairly low across the board. The experience counter cards would be wild in any deck that cares about experience counters, though. Especially the land that makes you win if you have 30 experience counters.
Kinda a shame none of the kids and only a couple of the trolls really interact with the mechanics. Jade would have done well if she cared about Frogs or experience counters.
I do like their rare cycle of lands, though.

The only UB set I would ever spend money on would be a Dark Souls set. However, Elden Ring would get picked over Dark Souls, but IMO both are extremely unlikely.

you just need to find a group that works with what you wanna play, theres a lot of pods at my locals i avoid since theres a good amount of extremely casual pods that make precons worse and i like playing higher power, but i eventually found a group i vibe with and we all enjoy playing the same level of decks
id say go back again and maybe see if theres other pods looking for players and give it a few more tries, otherwise you need to play with friends

You've more or less got it. Often the commander will be revealed much earlier and you'll have a decent idea of what's going on in the precon from that to make an early decision then. Sometimes that's early enough to beat inflated prices. Sometimes it isn't. As a commander I would say just pump her up with red cards so she can grab big guys. Then combine that with stuff like the treasure draws, faithless looting, and other discard draws red has. Even the cantrips that give her +2 or so will be enough for her to pull stuff like Mogis, and Purphoros back from a discard.
