None of the chaos armies are due a refresh. And GW don't launch new armies in starter boxes.
They do those towards the middle to tail end of the edition with big fomo launches to keep people spending. New launches are a where they tend to launch refreshes of existing ranges. If chaos get anything next edition it'll be a wave 2 for EC and World Eaters, or they'll drop a whole new faction (probably dark mech).

Its always Marines

And for the other factoin my money is on Drukhari, with a possibility of either Tau or Orks.

Pedo Kantro is never coming back, because GW hates the spanish speaking 40k community, and wants them to go away. They've been embarrased on social media by people turning up to Spanish GT's wearing SS emblems too many times. The Crimson Fists being faux-spanish are just an unfortunate casualty of GW being idiots and unable to handle PR properly.

They're still in their colonization phase, where they want to settle new planets. They are only just recently encountering the horrors of the galaxy that drive your culture towards destroying planets like this. The Imperium has weapons that explode planets because they know about chaos and how it works.

Give the tau more time and they'll be at the same spot. We'll get our tau exterminatus cannon or core implosion cannon after they have a few more crisis involving chaos or nids. They're too naive for it at the moment.

Trygon prime(had ingressed turn prior), genestealers and carnifex bust out of a hole, doom scythe ingresses forboedingly behind them.
Deathleaper fights the death marks off the top of the building then charges the cryptek trying to break the fnp- he fails devastatingly. The carnifex gang also failed their rerollable 7. The only consolation was due to the carnifex failing, I was able to launch scatter spore mines preventing the only viable attack run of the doom scythe forcing it back into reserves.

Thanks anon it was the toughest match I’ve had this edition. We decided to use the dense rules when shooting over the hill at least(but I promptly abandoned the middle except for a piddly unit of gaunts)
The hab blocks are buildings so although it’s an open field of death, I still had a lot of opportunities to go around.

In this pic
Anyway end of round 3 t1 necrons trygon slips back into reserves and my t3 I put him out on the other side of the necron layered screen, bringing the carnifex pack via the tunnel strat over.
My opponent was not pleased.
They then failed a 4 inch rerollable charge. I was not pleased.

Anyway most importantly here I managed to partially cage the necron player in their deployment. They had 2 objectives and a good shadow in the warp meant they only scored off one of them in that pivotal turn.

Color scheme, I put some purple tabards because I really loved the Dark Vengeance captain, I favor green instead of red, so my Deathwing is Bone/White/Green
I have some Ravenwing bikers but I don't like bikes much so I focus on land speeders.

I also make up new units, like Ravenwing Cabal (Vanguard Vets) or Ravenwing Pathfinders (Veteran Scouts, using the Infiltrator rules)

I think the simplest way I can explain the process is: remove what you don't like, either fix it or ignore it, then add stuff you like.

The reason is that it's impossible to track your sales and find out how your product is doing if they're being used for other things. If you look at 7th ed, you had all this fw stuff that they poured money I to for heresy, but at least half the sales were going to 40k players. So while it seems like their heresy release is doing well, 50% of those sales are going to something that isn't heresy. At that point they have no idea if heresy players like the product they made for them, because an unknown number of those sales aren't by heresy players. It's sucks, but there is a concrete reasoning for it.

okay here's the core rules, oh now theres a 75 page core rules addendum? now the addendum has changed and they've reworked pivot? etc

okay lets play, i've got the core missions, oh i guess i dont have some card pack thats needed. okay i brought my card pack this time....oh wait thats last seasons pack? shit lemme go buy the new pack, oh i cant its out of stock. okay i got the new pack finally, oh i guess i forgot the FAQ addendum to the seasonal pack, i'll download another pdf, etc

like jesus fucking christ just let me play god damn warhammer. i remember in highschool and college when i was playing 3rd or 4th it was pretty much the same rules and codexes for like 10 years straight, you could show up and know exactly how to play warhammer. now it feels like you're playing a game of MAO where the rules change every 5 minutes without telling you and you need to buy or download something and relearn the game every time

New players always struggle. It doesn't matter where the rules are written. People generally get along with warsroll style rules than they ever did with the tomes and tomes of stratagems you had to memorise for 8th and 9th. 95% of which never mattered, until they did and suddenly they were crucial.

You also underestimate the mental load of memorisation because you already know what a lashun profile should be, what a heavy bolter is, so you assume it would be that easy for newer players too. Having newbies flick through the wargear section of the book to cross reference with their unit stats is so much worse than just handing them a card to read when it's time to activate a unit.

you also need the special weapon profiles of the guns and melee the unit uses
which you needed to flip through the book to get to
Units typically only have 1 main special rule now which is displayed on the sheet, some weapons or special abilities might reference another ability but it is typically referencing a universal special rule, which a player should be able to learn over time, just like universal rules in magic the gathering

There's new players, and there's "new players".
People who try to learn generally don't have a problem after a game or two.
You can't plan for the retards who refuse to actually read the rules and just try to soak them up organically as they go. They exist in every tabletop game, RPGs, boardgames, even monopoly has those people who think they know how to play until they suddenly get confused when you start an auction for a property.

New mental stats and tactical statuses are great and IMO the best version of morale we've ever had and splitting those allowed weapon families to be more different which is welcome. New FOC is weird and a bit unnecessary but I like it. I wouldn't mind either to be honest. The only change I really dislike is heavy weapons, especially with the new snap shots being 5+ for marines. You don't need to use tokens. These things aren't hard to keep track of. And reactions are few and limited so I don't really need to keep them in my mind all the time like I have to do with stratagems. I haven't played 3.0 yet for obvious reasons but I have played 2.0 and I didn't have any of those issues. I never said I wanted abilities on wargear either. Instead of Infernus Marines having an ability to force battleshock, there should just be a Salamanders detachment that lets you activate it. Either giving players a lot more CP each turn, or dividing strategems that cost CP from abilities that cost "AP". Then you can just hand a newbie a single piece of paper with all of their army's abilities on it all at once. It's so fucking obnoxious having to open up the app and bounce back and forth from unit to unit looking up abilities.

If you like details, character, content, you're not gonna have any sway to someone who doesn't care for any of it.

And after years of trying to do that, I have lost all respect for people who care more for the finess of plastic moulds than what is being made into plastic miniatures in the first place.

You can polish a turd, and all.

People don't have to like it, there's no problems here.
The issue is developing a hate boner over some miniature to the point of replying again and again and again to someone who doesn't entertain your mindless inexplicable dislike of it.

I think it's very funny to talk about "striking a nerve" after all these posts.
You know, I like that miniature, I think Edgar is very talented, and many people think so too as they bought many of his miniautres, a lot of which are still sold today.

But you, why are you wasting all your energy on this?
What makes you imply a renown sculptor is a "random indie"?
Because, as you said, I struck a nerve.
