How often should I be having to refill my brush while painting? It feels like I can hardly get anywhere before I'm painting with a barely damp brush on a model and need to go back for more paint. It makes base coating a nightmare and takes forever.

It's the recognizable design. It's the same reason why you can sell Darth Vader toys to literal babies, it's not because the person understands his character and lore, it's because he's a cool guy in armour with a cool mask and a cool laser sword. Space marines are cool space soldiers with cool helmets and cool chainsaw swords. The lore exists for you to get more excited about something you were introduced to via art, or a video game, or models or whatever and already think are cool. Nobody whose being truthful can say their first exposure to 40k or space marines was a 400page BL book. They would have seen a picture of a space marine somewhere, had the thought of "Hey this looks cool, I should learn more about this". I like some primaris models but here's my problems with them:

Most IA teams don't feel piled up because of how the themed dettachments work. In my opinion the way to get a full unique range would be by adding more vehicles and ground troop options that can be shared by multiple dettachments like hive scum, deamonhosts, jokaeros and so on. That is such an uninspired sculpt it drags down the quality of the entire faction by existing.
They were so determined to do a female priest they made it as bitch basic as possible. It's the kind of shit sculpt GW would have done 10+ years ago and they should have done better.
