>>96279360>>96279402Extra advice: When you buy from a shop, the very first thing you do is check how many cards they actually have. If you stroll into a shop with a few hundred cards, chances are REAL slim you'll find anything on your list. Look for the shops with 10k/25k/50k+ sales, they tend to have a huge selection of cards. My normal go-to shops all have over 15k Magic cards in stock (on shop has like 47k cards or something like that).
This card seems pretty underrated. Colorless regrowth on a land.

I've seen a video where a guy talked about a Portuguese card or maybe Spanish card that had the exact same name in Portuguese or Spanish. Something with "inferno". Players cheated and changed the cards in their deck according to the match up in a tournament and they forced players to specify which inferno they had in their decks when they submit the decklist.
Does anybody know which card that is?

You are starting in an era right after a significant amount of power creep. Any of the precons you pick up will be just fine.
Fun is subjective, I would never make the mistake of equating power and fun in edh. Find something you think is interesting, proxy it and if you enjoy it buy it. There are so many strategies and playstyles that it wont hurt to print out some cards and just test a bit before you buy.
If you hate the idea of proxies, just know that investing in a good land base is almost always better long term than getting specific tech for a deck.

Somebody asked about this card a couple of threads ago.
The just phrased it differently in German to not us their pronouns. Changed their name though adding an "x". French uses neo-pronouns. Like xim, xer and on this card it's "iel"

>>96280232Bloomburrow is a meme. It's mechanics are honestly shit. Gift is ether negative card advantage or who gives a fuck tier like gift a fish, might as well be the default mode at that point. Forage is forgettable and Expend is actually just a dogshit mechanic. Valiant isn't bad but will forever be remembered for the most obnoxious standard red list of the last 5 years. New tribes like rabbits, lizards, and bats are too thin to build around and have received actual zero support since BLB.
Offspring is the lone good mechanic in the set but that doesn't elevate it above the other sets last year. I'd definitely put it below Duskmourn, and even though it has OTJ beat on flavor OTJ is a significantly more mechanically interesting and sound set. Every set this year minus Aetherdrift has been better. I will never understand Flopburrow defenders, it's a cute flavor set and nothing more.

>>96282014There's about half a dozen black creatures that get better without their ability, Death's Shadow probably most of all. The optimal play pattern is just to open with Entomb and Dark Ritual, put Death's Shadow into the grave turn 1, turn 2 Dark Ritual into Xu, turn 3 you have a 13/13 and 3 lands open to cast whatever else you may have in hand.
Losing abilities is only a detriment if you're not running the right creatures for the deck, otherwise it's literally just a reusable reanimate that costs you literally nothing and can even be done multiple times a turn if you're untapping.

>I didn't keep track of it, looks like you lost track of it as well, if everyone's okay with it I don't mind if he plays a land now, okay?
>the other 2: sure
>landfall guy:wait a minute, I remember now, I haven't played one
>>96282149if it didnt also cost several hundred dollars probably
before it was banned i think i saw it maybe 2 or 3 times in my entire time playing magic
>>96282177Why the literal fuck are you bringing up proxies in relation to the post I made?
It's a good effect on a card could easily be remade and be usable.
Proxying it has no relation to the situation as it's a banned card as is you retarded dumbfuck.
>>96282175it was written in 2006 so actually it's nerdkino not basedslop
>>96282176there's a guy in our group who always says things like "why didn't you do XYZ instead" in response to plays that are either suboptimal or target him

>>96282190Proxyfags are absolutely desperate to justify themselves at any opportunity.
>My wife died>Imagine not proxying a wife, take the proxy pill and never have to worry about your wife dying. I bought 17 wives from the Chinese myself.
>>96282191Just inspired by Joss Whedon's quips (marvel quips) from Buffy. So not any different really.
>>96282198Sounds like prof, lmao
>>96281795This makes me miss having a group to play with. Anytime I go to my local game store everyone is just trying to combo.
>>96282182>sexIs there a card in English that uses that word? Sex meaning fucking and not something else
>>96281884Wait, but I constantly think that way and tell myself it's based. They need to remove all blacks from all cards.
>>96282149after seeing this post i had the brief idea to build a bracket 1 Harold McNeil deck, but he only has 27 cards, so that didn't last long. might slot his version of fog and sylvan library into my deck though to get looks across the table like dexter and doakes
that said, I came across this retardery. I can't tell if this is extremely broken (good) or extremely broken (bad) in orzhov reanimator. can anyone think of some way to combo with this?
>>96282203its also a stupid translation. "spielstein" (literal: play stone) is what you call play pieces like monopoly houses, not cards. they completely blew the chance to call it "Marke" (mark/marker, sounds like "Karte" (card)).
>>96282227Tokens aren't cards though, they're not supposed to be cards.
>>96282226There are tons of combos with this card my friend. One of the mana altars + a 1 colored mana or 2 generic mana is infinite ltb and etb and cast triggers. Change the altar to one of the stations and an ornithopter or some other 0 mana artifact creature to win the game. I have a Kentaro list based around this card/Yomiji or whatever his name is for samurai storm

>>96282246wait a second, are you the nogames anti-proxyfag who shits ups thread 24/7 the moment proxies get mentioned?
>>96282252Nta, you should take your meds. You're a schizo who calls a bunch of people the same thing. You're shitting up these threads with your schizo delusions about your boogeyman
>some guy accuses everyone of never playing mtg
>this is now the same guy who hates proxies
>clearly because...
>they just have to be one and the same person
Very normal and sane behavior
When I sat down today for Magic someone sat down and asked if I would be cool with proxies.
>ask what it is
>"Just the One Ring"
He seemed a little salted when I said fuck no, but we played anyway after he cut it.
>>96282256no fucking way you got found again. do proxies hurt you that much? just play a few games with friends and stop seething mate, nobody is gonna hurt you

>win 3 games in a row at around turn 10~
>getting lots of shit that my decks are just too powerful and I have answers to everything
>'you just always have an answer to everything, can never stop you it's bullshit'
these guys are using gitrog, field of the dead, rhystic study, cyclonic, teferi's - so it's not some low powered precon pod. the mill player had noetic scales, overburden, defense matrix, etc for 3 games in a row and they just lose to the most stupid shit. Does anyone else have this problem?

>>96282276Kefka is boring goodstuff slop and I would not enjoy playing against you. Your deck exists in the uncomfortable realm of "must answer," and the real solution to it in a casual game is disproportionate targeting.

Oh look a monoblue fanfic.
>>96282134he said the special word!
>>96280060Yup. Same. Do what I do and when like half the table or more playing blue + some combonatuon of black and/or white, warn the table "You guys get 2 removal spells and 1 board wipes each. After that, I don't care if it losses me the game, I will counter them."
Force your opponents to actually play strategically and really think about what they're want to do. Magic is a game about upsides and downside; risks and rewards after all.
