It doesn't surprise me that Arsenal was the most picked. There were several classes I would have chosen but they had a single area of expertise I just didn't care for. So it made sense to go with Arsenal and just pick the ones I liked.

Does Evocation mastery let you manipulate weather on massive scales or is the "storm" in question the same size as the inferno from Skyrim's Fire Storm spell? Personally I lean towards the weaker side of things, but I especially don't agree with him scaling every other classes destructive potential to that of a master Evocation mage. Causing mass damage is sort of their thing, a master Monk shouldn't be punching buildings into dust.

As you can see, I am almost done. The update should be ready sometime this month. I think.
After thinking things through with a clear head, I’ve decided to stand by my original decision and not post the translated proper version of that secret page. It’s not that big of a deal. And it’s not like that was the only secret page I have.
There’s no point in answering any questions or explaining anything that is going to be present in the CYOA when I can just instead finish the CYOA and have you see everything with your own eyes directly.
So I’ll just hurry up instead.

Why are some Anons obsessed with Magi Case? Is the general just urban mage fantasy starved or something? We already got existing content like Fate / Another Pretender, Urban Witch, Demon Eyes.

NTA, but authors tend to update their old materials because often than not the old materials old some writing errors. But also because the content released is in some shape or form unfinished missing either the complete story that the author wants to tell or choice materials that were not properly elaborated on.

Due to this, the work is complete on release, but it is also incomplete as it doesn't match the complete desire of the creator in the CYOA world that you can explore and run around in in your mind.

This becomes more apparent and desired in CYOAs that are quite large or have heavy emphasis on choice chaining (choices impact other choices) or are just story rich content.

Working on new content has a high tendency to delay and even completely stop old content the author left personallu unfinished never to be touched again. It woulf also disappoint fans of said project.

I don't use a spread sheet, but I do plan my CYOAs. I always start with the introduction then break the CYOA down into main sections based on how it's going to be played. Often it's starting with the Player Character then moving into Equioment, Powers, Companions and then Quests last. Then I fill in the content under each of the main sections.

The introduction gives most of the run down about the world so I just build what is going on arlund after that.

Development wise I think of the Player standing first world in the world and build arlund that. If there are heights the Player cannkt reach then they should not appear or if the Player can reach them they should appear as companions and descriptions of choices especially powers.

You can't fit all worldbuilding in at once. So I start with the intro and often dump info into it. Companions are extra vehicles to understand the world more and give you a sense of connection to it by joining in on their misadventures or imaging them into your life.

Spread sheets? Who the fuck uses spread sheets. I usually just think about what I want to make in a lose concept and then what would make it good or bad. If the idea survives my critical eye I start to imagine the different sections of the CYOA in my head. Then I think of options I want to include and get an idea of how big each section is. I think of the CYOAs graphical design, the art style of the images and then once I have it all mapped out in my head I just fill it out in MS Paint like god intended it. I usually do that once I have done everything else. This was very much the case for Dragonfall. I do it this way because I have a lot of crazy ideas I want to puta into each CYOA and I usually include at least 1 new unique mechanic that will define the CYOA. For Dragonfall it was the "wish companion mechanic", for Princess it was the "options have consequences", for Void Maiden it was the "mana cost and generation", for Your CYOA it was the "gain powers from things you own", for World of Whorecraft it was the "defeat mechanic", for Orbs of Desire it was the "thematically aligned points and the spread sheet convergence" ect.

For me the story is there to make my mechanics and crazy ideas make sense. It would be weird for me to work the other way around. It's like working backwards and it feels limiting. I would rather not set a limit to what I can imagine and then just do everything I want and then make it makes sense afterwards.

Honestly. Personal abilities should be implied more than hard coded. I notice tons of Anons when faced with companions that have stats or defined powers, they tend to directly aim for the power houses on their adventure one way or another even if it subconsciously and they are not trying to metagame.

It's best left at implication of what level because it relieves pressure of needing a companion that will constantky need to keep up. It also lets you focus more on bio history, personality and goals.

This isn't to say those three things cannot sway others from picking more powerful companions, but it does more with implicated powers or especially a power system that loose and more unique to individuals.

Lamia race upgrade + Dollmakers kit.
Dollmakers kit lets you turn human beings into your eternal slaves and gives them magical powers, with more power if you fuse multiple bodies together in the process.
Meanwhile the Lamia race upgrade allows you to use one perk from each witch you vore, one magic at one rank lower, or vore them to death to speed up your leveling.
Using these two you can kidnap normal people(which is completely acceptable in WA) to turn them into free abilities.
Alternatively you can merge as many humans as possible into one slave, putting the points into the Doll race upgrade (hivemind) to gain exponentially more slave bodies to vore for mana generation.
Oh, and since they're called "Type Perks", you can force your slaves to take hybridize to gain all of the race upgrades, without the base abilities.

I do actually save the companions if I include any for last since I need the world building/lore before I can write them but everything else goes before that. But it's not like I have 0 lore to start with. For example, in my upcoming CYOA Hentai Heroine I knew I wanted 2 thing. A isekai experience where the player is summoned to another world and receives powers but they only get really lewd obscene powers which makes them into a rape bait heroine. I also knew I wanted the isekai world to be full of hentai tropes from the classic rape goblins to lewd ugly bastard merchants that sells curesed gear. I always start with a premise which I flesh out later and if include any companions I'll do them the last thing I do since I need world building and story before I make them.

The point is that even against people on the same level or lower it shouldn't be something so reductive as they either nullify 95% of it so it's pretty much worthless, to anyone who cannot nullify is instantly atomized. If you want classic fantasy, Tales of Ethshar books maybe? There's a really weird mixture of high fantasy and utter pedestrianism that i find completely unique and oddly comfy. The first book literally does not know when to end. A guy goes on an adventure through a forever war between good and evil, gets cursed by a wizard accidentally, becomes a war hero, becomes an assassin crucial for the war effort, the war ends through divine intervention, he then wanders off to find something else to do because hes now out of a job, he then gets into the hospitality industry and becomes a successful pub owner and it still fucking goes on after that. I love it.

Other books have things like a kid wizard who was only taught one spell by his master before he died doing things like saving a kingdom from a dragon, or a guy who is hired to take over a country accidentally helping his mage friend become all powerful and take over the country instead: becomnig the mages best friend and tryign to keep him grounded while knowing things wont end well.

There's one book that just follows some dick kid causing a bunch of trouble because he has all the empathy of a toad. He doesn't want to go into the family merchant business, he wants to be a wizard. He finds out he has all the magic talent of a piece of balsa woodthough, so being unreasonably spiteful he finds out that they need dragon blood to do a lot of their spells and decides he will be a merchant after all, only he'll be a dragon blood merchant so all the wizards have to suck up to him.

He then goes and runs away from home to stalk the only dragon blood merchant he knows back to his home - in another country. Meanwhile his worried sick parents hire a witch to track him down. He ends up meeting a dragon who isn't happy about how the dragon blood business is run and goes to using his spiteful dickery to be like 'well what if *we* undercut those bastards and took over the industry! Muhaha!"

If you want more RoyalRoad popcorn fantasy about some loser getting stronger, I've recently been genuinely surprised by how much I've enjoyed something called Bog Standard Isekai. It's one of those worlds where the gods have set up everyone with Classes - which is something I've never read before but have been vaguely aware of and I did not like the idea. But once you accept the oddness of that premise, the world it makes is surprisingly interesting and well-thought out and the intersect between 'this is a real world with real people' and 'job system yo' is pretty good: I was worried the fight scenes would read like an MMO chat log but it's really not the case.

As you've imagine not everyone wants to go into the forest to die hunting monsters and 'heroic' classes tend to be quite rarely offered anyuway, most people have normal classes like 'Carpenter' or 'Blacksmith', which get experience from actually doing those things. Other people are not okay with dying as a level 30 Washerwoman and will accept upgrades into classes which reward evil behaviour with power and end up hiding what the system says their class is to avoid being smited. One unusually high level guy talks about how once he levelled up his Inspect skill enough he found out that everywhere he looked he saw people who suddenly read as Undead, Cultist, Murderer, etc. and realized that all of their society is really just an elaborate game of werewolf.

It's not gonna set the world on fire or anything, but after Mother of Learning nothing else on RoyalRoad has caught my interest so strongly. Though if anyone has any other suggestions Im all ears.

Going by how the EXP gain boost seems to more than double with each rarity upgrade (Human racials seem like different tiers of the same Perk), Mythical-level Perk should easily boost it by over 2000% and give some insane additional benefits. Either soar above all others or crash and burn, as it should be. Besides, such high-end stuff doesn't seem like something you'll attain anytime soon outside of this chance.

Metal Staff is the best weapon I can afford and use at the start, I feel like the extra firepower will be necessary. Backpack is for both convenience and stats. Hunting Book because I feel like I'll need to eat monsters sooner or later, and would rather know how. The quests will help me get some combat experience against monsters and hopefully give some idea of how to gather mats and craft some recovery items, because I conspicuously lack means of self-healing.

Mage because caster best. Endurance investment so I hopefully won't get one-tapped.

I tried reading it a while ago yeah, as I was fresh off the high of MOL and desperate for more. I couldn't have been more disappointed though, I was bored to tears the entire time. He is back now and spends his time sort of wandering about, visits the orphanage where he grew up and decides to open a magic school and gives some simple lessons to some kids while vaguely alluding to a past that sounds a lot more interesting than what is actually going on, but for some reason we're not seeing that.

If you're still up, try "Prophecy Approved Companion". With Mother of Learning, that's about the only book on RoyalRoad I finished, despite being a lot different.

From Royal Road? I recommend:

*Duelling Dungeons - dungeon dives are the hottest pro-sporting event in a fantasy world. After faiing to get a spot on an adventuring team, an arachne/drider accepts a spot as floor boss in the Wailing Mansion dungeon.

*Dungeon 42 - former Uber driver gets recruited to build a dungeon in a fantasy setting. Only the forces of good are so screwed up, she ends up having to build the infrastructure for the heroes, too.

*Weaboo's Unfortunate Isekai: the Necromancer's Gatcha - Cryptobro anime fan gets isekaied as the newest player character in a tower defense game. Hordes of rape-monsters are coming to torture him to death, and only a gacha game's worth of failed heroes and villains stand between him and a horrifying death.

I also like Heather the Necromancer, but apparently it goes really, really off the rails after a while. Premise is that aliens have built a world that runs on fantasy MMORPG rules, and the protagonist gets abducted and dumped on it. And through a series of odd circumstances, the ultimate girly-girl ends up in the necromancer class.
