well its more of a question of what she will decide to teach you, your probably can't really choose for yourself [SRTR] will decide for herself what she will do with you, if you don't go half insane after living a century trapped with her and her "training". Tried making a build, no idea if I read everything correctly.

>Patron God: [JNPL]; Male
>Untimeskip (The Keter) (0/-2) [20/18] Ancestry/Destiny
>Outer Tide
>Mother: [JNPL] (-5/-5) [15/13]
Mandatory to not have to kill anyone.

>Father(Adoptive): "One" (-1/-1) [14/12]
The best option by far, and an ideal role model.

>Race: Muddish (+3/0) [17/12] +1 mentor slot
I am assuming I read this correctly and, since I have no race to inherit from any parents, I am free to pick one. I don't get what "you must still fit the displayed requirements" means, as I can't see any requirements for any of the individual races or race groups.

>Languages: Everman, Drakonian, Simplified Duergar, High Elven (0/-5) [14/7]
>Polyglot: +2/0 with Drakonian, +3/0 from unfulfilled mentor and companion slots due to Simplified Duergar, +1/0 from High Elven. [20/10]
>Location: Old Throne, Midoria (+1/0) [21/10]

>Inborn Gifts:
>Icon of Icons (-5/0) [16/10]
A suitable ability for a hero of justice.
>Cognitive Speed (-2/0) [14/10]; Memory Retention (-2/0) [12/10]; Intelligence (-2/0) [10/10]; Attentiveness (-2/0) [8/10]; Spiritual Feel (-2/0) [6/10]; Caster Intuition (-2/0) [4/10]; Noble Inclination (-2/0) [2/10]
I think all of these are self-explanatory. Improving my mental ability and especially Wisdom and Memory Retention will help to ensure I do not stray from the path of righteousness; Noble Inclination will allow me to inspire others and lead them to victory; Spiritual Feel and Caster intuition allow me to learn things like healing spells eventually; and Cognitive Speed, Intelligence, and Attentiveness will help with competency so that I can actually live up to my ideals.
>All-Glimpse (-5/0) [-3/10]
With almost all of the mental enhancements, this should be very useful. Lacking the need to sleep especially with double the amount of time I have to improve the world, and the amount of time I can spend with "One".

>Mentors: The Keter (0/-5) [-3/5]
In addition to having fought 0^0 before, The Keter claimed to be a hero. I want to make that true, so we're going to work together to save the world.

>Companions: None
I will inspire heroism genuinely, patiently. I neither need nor want to force it on anyone.

>Encounter: Never Alone (The Keter) (-1/-1) [-4/4]
It ensures more time despite Untimeskip removing the Mentor status guarantee of meeting her in childhood. Spending time with "One" should help her mental state.

>Encounter: A Bridge, A Toll, A Troll (+2/+2) [-2/6]
I'm assuming it uses up/fills that slot, and that it doesn't also apply to a companion. A risk, certainly, but an important one. Not being able to die here doesn't change that I could still be injured, so I'd have to be careful. Combined with A Score of Orcs, it may even have a band already.

>Encounter: A Score of Orcs (+2/1) [0/7]
Same as the prior. I meet every person I'm supposed to almost immediately, so I do have better chances to fix this. This location is also well-equipped to deal with them.

>Deaths: Vedi (Myself); Zemlya (Myself) (0/-1); Death: Yee (Myself) (0/-1) [0/5]
It might be odd to try to avoid it, but you can't learn or improve if you are dead. I'm going to keep trying, in life and in death and after. I'll probably have to make sure to learn a lot about necromancy to teach the Keter; I doubt a poorly-reanimated shambling zombie without my mind would be able to do much good. If it doesn't work out, I'll just try again, again.

>Death: Lesser Yus (The Keter); Zhivete (The Keter)
This means more heroes of justice in the world, and of course I'm not going to force someone to die!

>Youth: Martial Training, Magical Training, Leadership Training, Parental Support
Not taking Theology is unfortunate, but there are more important things than gods.

>Quest: E Nomine
I won't accept any bad ends. We're saving everyone, including Charlotte.

Based Retards - Vtorusha
Retards - Savmak, Erginter, Charlotte, Katya

I respect Tuzik and Sarmat the most for dying on their own terms and not falling for the immortality meme.
Also for some reason the quality of outsiders declined drastically after Sarmat. Maybe Sarmat's solve a century's worth of plot with death slot abuse trick made the story boring so the elder gods adjusted the outsider system's selection criteria to look for retards.

Proof that letting zoomers reincarnate into your setting makes it progressively worse. Going from someone based like One to dull, midwit faggots like Erginter and Charlotte certainly didn't help. Well they do otherwise the reincarnation system wouldn't have any point. The future reincarnations just don't have excess to these memories. It works at what it does as you would become too set in your old ways if you kept your memories and were immortal and couldn't really experience the rest of the story. But I don't like it from a whole different angle I mostly care about the maintenance of my own identity, become some elder god thing made out of millions of merged lifetimes seems a bit too jarring and ego deathy to me.

I have finished my build
I spent literally the last 20 hours without breaks thinking about this
I must now sleep
https://rentry.co/CyoaORBuild001
I will post only the gameplan, the details are in the rentry if you somehow care

Summary:
Build Focus: Uruk, Inner eye x3
With an exact and excruciating knowledge of the inner blueprint of the uruk I will reverse engineer life itself
It will take a While but I will do it
Also, I am going to the moon
Spells are implied to include creation ex nihilo and uruk are made from rocks, so once I figure everything out I should be able to terraform the moon
I am effectively ignoring fate's plans and the struggle between 0^0 and the other outsiders

Gameplan:
I start off as an adult proficient in both everman and magic
As I am only half uruk and beautiful, I hope to look like an elf with a skin condition
I try to dress very noble-y and civil to further the gap
I travel the land, helping people as I go, and collecting spells and magic tools that can help me claim the moon
The obvious ones are a godhand to help with construction and some sort of spells that can create matter
I am lead in my spell search by my mentor spako, who knows the effects of almost every spell
While I am around, I try to cure most common diseases
My main lead to the understanding of magic is my varient inner eye, allowing me to read the godscript inherent to uruk
It should also let me freely understand any magical disease I am afflicted with
Once I have finished my pre ordained events, met my companions and hopefully gathered the magical people and components I need I set out to terraform the moon
Remote casting and portals are implied to be possible, so it may be that I only need to gather a congregation of ritualists on "earth"
Once An area on the moon is partially habitable, I move to my next goal, the creation of new life
Understanding the godscript written within me Will be a difficult goal, likely taking decades
(1/3)
Anonymous No.96372792 >>96372826
>>96372789
Given all that work, I simply tell all of my most trusted ritualists what the words are so we can work on it together
It hardly matters what others can do, as long as I get to the moon first it will only help them
That being said, to prevent any political upset from a new type of spells being made common, I will try to keep my men quiet, and only include the ones without affiliations
Once we have solved the mysteries of flesh (Est 30 years) we will design an enviroment with no insects or mosquitos
Someone will certainly ruin it, but you may as well try
Then, inevitabley, we travel to the moon
If long range solutions were impossible or impractical, I send myself repeatedly, as I can freely recall and need little air
Making an airtight seal to protect my eyes isn't actually to hard, just cast two pieces of steel with sharp, even ends and tighten them together into a soft metal like copper. it will deform minimally enough to be air tight
Based on machina, the ability to make mechs in this worldis pretty plausible, although expensive
I travel up in a mech and dig a deep deep trench
The quickest way to set up a base at this stage will be digging a trench and putting a metal box in it
It's underground to lower the pressure on the walls
Once this is up, I start casting the local spells to produce air, or teleporting it in if that isn't an option
I will skip the rest of the details, as none of this affects anyone but me and my followers
I create both a paradise and a means of immortality for others, allowing them to respawn as I do in a new body
I sculpt the moon into a place of freeflowing rivers and fruit trees, where conflict comes only from other men
When my work is done I consider looking back to save the world from 0^0, but by then she has probably been slain and the eucumene is just another nation on the map
(2/3)
Anonymous No.96372826
>>96372792
If the next outsider is born on the moon I give him some means to leave, but tell him not to come back, as I wish to avoid relations with the outer world
To my fellow outsiders of the 11th I offer the most half-hearted of invitations, as they are all likely to be in some way unstable
Until they earn my trust I try to avoid them, and avoid explaining any of the moon stuff

I am aware that the perfect environment will weaken my people, partially because of evolution and partially because the eldar gods hate fun
I will try to implement eugenic cultural policies first, propaganda about doing the right thing, abount intelligence being sexually and romantically attractive, and about laziness giving you erectile disfunction
If those don't work out in 200~ years then I start a killing game of some sort, aiming for 0.5% of the weakest each year

Oh and, no direct worship of the elder gods
People should focus on the virtues around them, that they can emulate. Begging someone stronger the you to help rarely even works and overall only takes from the limited pool of their help
(3/3)

Vague notes:
I get the feeling you were actually considering lunar colonies when making this, what with the mention of acting in a vacuum and the 2nd having a lunar colony
Har har har, below average copper merchant
There is an extremely obvious exploit right now wherein you take 0^0 as a patron and use malice to take the point bribe for omega, then pick outer tide making the fate undo itself
This should probably be patched by making the death slot say "Can't be targeted by malice"
I amn't taking it because I don't care for it asthetically and I don't really need the points
Also, Troll is worth more then buying a companion slot and some races are worth more then halfbreed
Which is effectively just free points
Uruk is far worse in this version because of languages mattering
You can use up almost all of the events pretty easily

Let's see potential revivals for fun
>One
He comes back as your mentor so there should be a way to keep him around even after he turns to dust if you understand enough about undead
>Vtorusha
Activate the old throne mech that is housing her soul and letter, should be doable enough
>Aat/Xian
Two different ways to do it, either through his spirit as the Eternal Curse as Aat or by following Dis plan to revive Erginter merged corpse
>Savmak
Get his spirit out of his sword
>Yphont
Seems hard since she's genuinely just dead, but as a dark elf there should be a way to use the curse she used to stop the Uruk to bring something of her back
>Tuzik/Sarmat
Just dead, could still bring them back through their descendants
>Erginter
Same as Xian
>Charlotte
Alive, but it could be funny to bring back her old self and make her see the bitter asshole she became, there should be a time magic loophole somewhere

Actual /x/fag here.

The theurgy cyoa is cool and all but itโ€™s not very accurate; in fact itโ€™s downright erroneous to assume that materials and substances had zero influence or nothing to do in theurgical matters, when they absolutely did, not just in ceremonial affairs but also as something to receive. Solomon, arguably the greatest theurge in myth, alongside Moses, was given divine tools, like demon bindings rings and matter eating goo, by God to shape the world and to bind spirits.

Specifically, theurgy utilized specific materials and tools, such as physical tokens (synthemata), offerings, consecrated objects, ceremonial tools, incantations (objects of the mind), and sacred plants or metals, in their ceremonies to facilitate communion with the divine. Sometimes even sacrifices.

These elements were not mere decorations but integral to the ritual process, creating a conducive environment and acting as points of connection to the intelligible and tertiary causes of the universe.

Alchemy was actually seen as the โ€˜key to theurgyโ€™ in the hermetic tradition; one had to alchemically refine the soul, or spirit, to interact and communicate with the divine, and what is alchemy also associated with if not the physical, material, and changing world?

Theurgy as an oversimplification is really just successful priesthood. God-wizardry.

The real quitter talk is saying that Toybox is a serious option. Love SRTR, but she delivers some of the most trap options just for kicks. Stuff like Fiert and Toybox will fuck you over in the long run even if it seems way better then the others at first because you're basically signing off the potential to play the game and overcome its challeneges in the first place.

I mean, leaving it to the next outsider is a huge gamble which she doesn't even have a real concrete plan for except stacking the deck, and its more of an excuse for her to mess around with her playthings because she loves small scale stories. I'd rather not see how fucked it is by the time Charlotte has her hands in a stranglehold on the non-converted continents since being more in power also makes the possibility of the 12th being on her side greater.

If you want it done right, gotta do it yourself. Waiting for a hero or waiting for yourself to become a hero means you'll be sitting around forever even if you think all those fancy skills are going to help you, because you have yet to take the first step.

Ratha and Zenia are just pawns in a god's greater game. As an Outsider we get the privilege of choosing roles like Bishops or Knights. We at least had a life outside of all this beforehand, these guys were brought up in a world that has always been under the Elder Gods' hands and pulled every which way for reasons beyond them, so its probably way more damaging on their psyche. The way we're uplifted with the Outsider system versus them only being manipulated by it and actually having to have an audience with SRTR to try and reach out level compared is what I think shakes them so much. The novelty of an isekai life isn't to be underestimated.

Do you think its possible to experience every possible role in every possible story by maintaining the same identity? It's not to experience every role you will commit everything from the most righteous of good to the most vile and disgusting of evil to be able to do such spectrum of deeds you would need to be insane, constantly changing yourself to embody a new role abandoning your old and in this evershifting existence you will lose your old self.

Not at all. Anyone sufficiently evil, uncaring, or utilitarian can do any arbitrary amount of evil. Good is much easier, even the average person can play the role of a saint if they have sufficient powerโ€”they will likely enjoy it too.

Well this is quate from Tankista in one of those q&a

"There are three things we can differentiate here.

The proper, normal ascension is something that happens naturally after youโ€™ve experienced every possible role in every possible story, granting you the understanding and qualification necessary to write your own ones โ€“ you become an Elder God, indistinguishable from the three already existing ones. Whether that means you get your own new pillar with a new theme or you copy one already present and leave to make your own world doesnโ€™t really matter.

Thereโ€™s false ascent, a process through which you become an Empyrean. Itโ€™s the state that is opposite to being Undead. Undead are too firmly embedded in the world/story and refuse to let go of their lives in it, defying the natural providence and staying โ€œaliveโ€ despite everything. Empyrean is the opposite, the state where youโ€™re too detached from the world/story, and so your physical death doesnโ€™t really matter to you โ€“ you can just jog back to your corpse as a spirit and revive. Despite principles behind both things being opposite, the outcome is similar. Iโ€™ll touch upon this a bit more in the update this summer (hopefully).

And then thereโ€™s False Ascent (but itโ€™s often not capitalized in the CYOA) โ€“ the very first instance of the previous thing occurring, given greater importance because it was conflated with the moment when 0^0 entered the Three Pillars and killed [JNPL], taking her spot."

Mental gifts aren't all powerful boons, just a support for your learning. Intelligence doesn't suddenly make you a genius, you are just better at understanding things, attentiveness just makes you good at detective work, etc.
Like the martial inclination, it's merely a help you can get by yourself, not a super power unlike the other boons. I can imagine several people just picking the ability to run super fast or become a host of demons before that.

Typically, one would be hard pressed to find better boons than upgrades to one's mind. A few more mental gifts would have done Vtrorusha, Savmak, Charlotte, and Katya a lot of good.

Its just letting out a bunch of Majins who can make armies is a bad idea which is why its stated they tend to not have many children of their own unless they plan to send them off somewhere far to reduce the chances of a power struggle or some other amicable agreement between the lords are made.

If you think the All-Glimpse is going to stop you from getting curb stomped you are already putting too much into it. The world's a living story, you aren't supposed to break down the story into its most basic components. It's like learning music theory and trying to make the mathematical perfect product. Each Letter and its Meaning can manifest in a myriad different ways depending on the context which is why all the Elder Gods have great overarching stories, even SRTR as she follows you as an important character over the world at large.

Charlotte left it there so you'd deconstruct the story and see it in that light rather. Full understanding of God Script is much different than viewing it at face value which is why the actual language is barred off and we're given this ability to view it from the outside instead. You're just paying for a worse version of comprehension which everyone above you already has mastered.

Those who actually used the All Glimpse don't ever seem live for themselves. Since we are obtaining it with the Outsider System it'll be much easier getting it without any of those complications but even so dealing with the bluntness of this reality and not even being able to enjoy any of the intricacies that you'll only notice from putting the connections together instead of being outright told will inevitably shift your view of the world. Besides being able to actually see magical letters right in front of you of course. I havd a concept of a CYOA. Basically, there have been multiple universes before the current one ran by a chief deity who gets succeded by an individual from their universe by force or consent because they want to be the new god/powertripping.

The last chief deity to incarnate the universe fucked up badly at the last moment and caused all previous universes histories to revive and bleed together. This also revived the former gods who want to play a great game to see who truly deserves to rule over the current history and have been messing with the universe.

You can't remember what place you are in history, but you still come back and now have to compete or work with the other gods. You pull companions from the bleeding history to your side and try to overwrite the bleeded world with your law/powersystem.

One of the oldest incarnating deities that loves everyone equally thinks you are special only for and to them because they really-really despise your existence. Out of all things to come before and after, you alone are the only one they hold malice towards, and that makes you special and only for them.

The Empyrean route only goes so far, and you're not going to beat the False Ascent with a half hearted attempt. You're actively letting her make you rush your understanding. This whole "Kill a god" thing is not your entire existence. Yeah she'll be glad to kill you but you are an Outsider who can choose what life you want to live. I'm not advocating for completely ignoring her but someone obsessing over a perfect strategy to take her down is just not going to work.

All Glimpse is fine for things like that. All Glimpse is just not going to even get your foot in the door trying to stand in the same club the Elder Gods are. That's why I think its inherently a bad choice specifically for getting God Script knowledge to use against Charlotte. Any other usage is completely valid and it'll work great as long as you don't ever care about being bored.

It bothered me in the original version but in the new one I cannot ignore it anymore. What is the deal with Fot?
He's the only character with an obvious place of origin, no hinted connection to anyone else and, for a demon lord, no tie to any Majin. He just seems like a random Demonhost father with nothing else going for him.

To be fair, part of my build warps reality in unnatural ways so things won't always be predictable. Not via pure Godscript either, but via spacetime chunks being moved around. I can likely still clean meaning naturally through the warped lenses. With enough Chaos, willful ignorance, alien meaning, and illusion I'm sure I can just get what I need for my projects. I do want to take down gods, but mostly by flipping the table via weird Eldritch crap. Part of the build is pulling a bubble of earth spacetime to Zemlya (the cyoa's setting for lack of a known name) and overlapping it with things, maybe I'll see if I can draw a chunk of Dreaming/Pandemonium too. Maybe I can create something akin to psykers? Sounds like an interesting challenge.

The Elder Gods can just make Demon Lords on their own for fun. They made Maou out of nothing to serve as an antagonist to Charlotte. Fot could easily be something they made up on the spot to give you the opportunity to be a Demonhost.

See YRMD's companion page. Gods have divine might by basically writing the story, but if they contradict something already written, they can die as a result. Charlie isn't a real god and probably doesn't have full access to all of the story, but even if she did have that kind of access, large edits that would effect entire nations would absolutely contradict something and kill her. For example, if she uses her god powers to make her nation win a fight and bulldoze an enemy nation, it could make one of our encounters impossible or kill one of our NPCs, that would be a contradiction, and then she'd drop dead. Small edits on a personal scale against appropriate targets would obviously work, but she probably gets more mileage out of running her nation. Time investment and all.

Nope. It changes that she can't directly affect you, at most using her powers to put challenges to you.
The example of the cyoa is she making you go to the amostphere and then die, 0 counterplay, and with JNPL protection she would need to drop something on you, counterplay possible.

Without JNPL she can directly just kill you, with JNPL she needs to use indirect means that offer you the possibility to survive. Its a word of difference, is like the difference of having immunity to insta death spells and being totally vulnerable to those.

If killing someone to her was as simple as waving her hand then Keter would be dead and no damage from the elves would have stuck. You are just looking at it from a surface level and not seeing that it's all just a story, she has to follow certain rules and you have to as well if you want to win. Everything can theoretically work as long as the story behind it is sound. Maybe you can find a loophole where your Uruk nature makes you resistant to her intervention, maybe you find a way to make her vulnerable in a key battle, maybe you just crush her empire while she's distracted and resurrect [JNPL], etc. Any build can work if you take advantage of the fact that you are writing the story during your character creation.

That would fall in "she can't directly affect you", changing the subject from "him" to "them" does not resolve it. She would need to, for example, make where you are standing be sent off to space, which still offers counterplay with some obvious inborn gifts.
By indirect means it doesn't mean she can act on you directly by making it aoe, it means she has to affect something else, that in principle would not affect you directly, that would then affect you

Because she just wants chaos. She likes high stakes. It's even said somewhere that her favorite times are when shit got so fucked up the world ended and needed a reboot from scratch.

If you're in the box, it means Charly snowballs harder and then SRTR gets to throw two outsiders at the problem at once. More chaos = more gooder for her.

It's somewhat implied by the way that JNPL is just chilling on the moon, how YMRD can just casually overrule stuff Charlie already wrote for Omega, and the whole E'Nomene goal that the elder gods are sandbagging assholes who could fix this shit instantly if they got serious. They're not in any real danger. Absolute worse case the three of them just leave along with any souls they took a fancy to. They've literally destroyed and created the world multiple times. Nothing is actually keeping them here. (Or at least it's one possible way to interpret the story. As anon said, the setting is what we make it out to be.)

>She's still damaged from whatever wordplay the elves did to her
>She can never again replicate her continent destroying attack
>People have stolen from her, stalled her forces and fought back against her, there are still Uruk hordes in her mainland
>She doesn't know the future and cannot read your choices
>The elders gods tell you that she's not as tough as she claims and say that she doesn't actually deserve her power
You are falling for her bait in thinking her unbeatable and looking at past Outsiders, the limits of the story are what you make them. One of them challenged the gods harder than Charlotte and built world ending mechas on her own, another killed a god and took her place. Absolutely anything is possible for you if you can work within the narrative for it.

Cool, thanks for all this real insightful stuff. One last question ifโ€™n yall donโ€™t mind. [SRTR]โ€™s initial blessing says I can โ€œignore the mechanical rules and interpret the story as I see fitโ€ but I still like playing by the rules of the CYOA, however I do like little loopholes when I see them so Iโ€™d like to run it by all of you. With the tutor perk you can teach any parent any language and since my father is โ€œThe Hoardโ€ I figure that means I can teach the entire Uruk race any languages I want before I leave character creation. Does that sound plausible? If nothing else I find it funny.

Blessing of [SRTR] is more about ignoring the rules of the cyoa and just doing whatever you want in terms of numbers.
Having said that, nothing implies that you cannot work within the narrative to teach the horde languages. I will personally accept that choice but only for the horde that spawned you, not all of them. You could also use the tutor mentor alongside someone who manipulate dreams, to teach your horde to speak and do other stuff. One outsider created the Majin, why couldn't you elevate the uruks?
Some of the old builds when it was first released did just that if I remember correctly.
