I focused almost entirely on the non-Idolon part of character creation for Reiji, and just tried to make something thematically and mechanically good enough based on what I had left to work with after those decisions. I haven't put so much thought into it, but I was thinking he may have created it himself through pure force of will, or maybe it's not all that supernatural and is more like an enhanced manifestation of his will. I'll have to look more closely at the lore when the official version drops, and my choices for the Idolon section may end up looking pretty different then anyways.

My first thought for Reiji was him stepping out after the more heroic members finish their early game boss fight with Rin, and revealing that he'd been having his people trail her for some time and already knew she was getting possessed by her Idolon. He was just letting her situation play out a bit longer to learn more about Idolons and hopefully better understand the supernatural events that had been going on in the city. If you mean from previous discussions in the last few threads, for Reiji there's the likely conflict with Alyona as his maneuvering undermines her attempts to control the school, him potentially taking an interest in Renka's drawings and seeing what mystical secrets she can uncover around the city, him trying to gain influence over the student council by getting closer to people like Madoka and Shu, him potentially forming a friendship with those two, etc.

For stuff that hasn't really been discussed yet, it depends a lot on the other builds. He's willing to hire people for jobs like maids, bodyguards, hackers, spies, journalists, assassins, investigators, etc. And then the dynamic depends on whether it's an openly transactional relationship, one where he's working to manipulate the person, one where they can't be manipulated, etc.

Outside of stuff directly tied to other students, potential character arcs would probably revolve around him trying to uncover supernatural secrets around the city, and him gaining more wealth and power in the corporate world to eventually topple his father. Also general family drama with his vile and conniving parents. I suppose that could potentially involve other PCs too if they get too close to him and his parents don't approve.

It happened after witnessing one of the Pure, and while, the ambition for change is part of it, it's not the only factor. I think Itsuki can become a genuine friend to Reiji.

He cannot be manipulated, won't be compromised (he is too revenge pilled), and honestly, is one of those people that won't be stopped by social bondaries or status, so if he and Reiji start off a friendship, there is little to no things his parents can do to Itsuki to stop him short of killing the guy, which won't be that easy.

Maybe if Itsuki tells him his sob story, they can start their friendship from something transactional (both using each other, and ready to backstab at a moment's notice), to something real.

Well, he can't be manipulated in the sense of going out of his way/morals. He is an ass, but one that is following his code, so he won't go out of his way to target innocents/will cut the deal short if he sees he is hurting people who are not on his death list, so he will stop, access the situation, and then go take satisfation with the one that manipulated him/frigged the situation for him to hurt innocents.

Well now that I look, Mr.Fernando only has 1 type of magic and a Grand Magic, so the "inverse rule" which I assume is the rule I enstated that makes your magic less effective with different un-synergizing magics wouldn't even come close to applying.

Plus, Reiji already has a quiet paranoia in the back of his mind that any seemingly genuine person who tries to get too close to him is secretly there to keep tabs on him or is part of one of his father's deranged tests. Genuine friendships are tricky, but there's always a chance after enough time. I imagine Reiji would start out just hiring Itsuki for various jobs while offering to use his resources to help Itsuki find the guy he's looking for. Maybe Reiji actually tracks him down, but the guy is too well-protected for him to feel comfortable letting Itsuki barrel in there in a fit of blind rage. Many of the most ambitious alchemists have sought to create beings superior to Humans, only to find their constructs lacking greatly in mind, body or soul. Still, among every sufficiently large gathering of arcanists can be found golems of great strength or diminutive homunculi tending to their masters, who willingly design their artificial children for certain tasks.

Iliaster is one such specimen, and quite an old one at that. Made centuries ago as servant so some forgotten archmage, they were built to tend to all the mundane matters of their creator's sanctum, so that they might ignore the mundane and focus entirely on arcane matters. Unfortunately, their creator had failed to achieve immortality, leaving the pseudo-living wooden puppet to spend many years fruitlessly maintaining their master's sanctum and themselves - spending a lifetime with nothing but tomes of arcane lore as company.

Discovered some years ago by [Wizard Organization], they have been loaned to [International Guild] to assist in the mundane matters of logistics and housework - they will keep accounts, sort inventories, write letters, clean rooms and oversee the mundane workforces of the Guild tirelessly. Despite their extremely polite and receptive demeanour, they have been known to playfully tease and scold the others on their sloppiness, or else act as excellent listener to the woes of their charges.

Iliaster's arcane power is entirely reserved to keeping him alive - some flaw in his artificial essence prevents him from wielding any magical power of his own. Far from inept, the puppet is a true master of magical theory and practice, honed over decades of academic research - subsequently, he has learned many forms of magic that require no personal power.

In addition to more commonplace Alchemy, Iliaster practices the art of Artifice - a deep understanding of identifying, forging, maintaining and manipulating magic items, allowing him to wield any form of magic bound to artefacts, though in a far less potent and proficient manner as true mages. Overall, his powerset is extremely broad and utilitarian in application, but requires an extreme amount of preparation. At his peak, he can burn through tokens, potions and relics to match more powerful mages for a short time, but must ultimately spend months rebuilding his reserves - he is thus unsuited for combat, and spends most of his effort assisting true Mages rather than pursuing personal power.

Expect some generic Frankensteinien soul-searching about the nature of a man and if he's even alive but he's more interested in being helpful with other's problems than tending to his own. Also the narrative reason as to why we don't necessarily see the Mages of the Guild doing shipment manifests, money counting, cleaning the decks and other work - though he's there to assist instead of replace in case anyone was thinking about a more mundane labour concept.

It goes without saying that he's very creepy to people who don't know him, very monotone and stilted, his charisma from Tactics comes from his insistence on being polite, helpful and selfless.

I imagine Loka and Iliaster have had plenty of autistic stare-offs so far. I also imagine Fernando offloads a lot of the busywork to him - Iliaster probably thinks it's better that he does it anyway, given what I presume is Fernando's less nuanced and disciplined way of doing things. On that note, after reading the rules from the rentry doc, I will be removing Tactics in favour of some Well-Stocked/Wealth for the Guild. His normal skillset is enough for what I'm going for and it removes any implied charisma, which doesn't fit him very well.

That being said, he's probably quite a good person to talk to about plans, so long as they're not about fighting and more about general operation of the Guild Vehicle, and is more than happy to confer with others and their plans to make it all work as well as possible.

From what I'm working with (pic related), Iliaster largely lacks the material and workshop to make magic items at the moment, though I suppose someone else can fill in for that, or I can drop something to give us a Workshop too.

In terms of his skill, the way I imagine his usage of Artifice is that - lacking any real power of his own - he can work with others to put their magic into items, both to let him use a very minor version of their magic and also to help make them better spell foci, etc. So for him it's probably less coming up with new toys and more working directly with people to upgrade their gear. If Loka is willing to donate her magic to his craft, he could tune up her magical gear or help her create entirely new stuff in return for her helping to create small tokens enchanted with Requip, Transport, Territory and Rules for his use and others' amongst the Guild.

Though I imagine with her hatred of her stuff being 'taken,' and their general mistrust it might take some time for her to come around to the idea, and Iliaster would definitely begin with helping her fixing her stuff up and working with any strange material she finds.

Definitely something that'll need to be built up to, and even when she comes to trust him, there'd still be some paranoia about what exactly others in the guild would use them for. Though, that'll turn into smugness pretty quick depending on how popular those tokens got.

Even if those technically satisfy her end of the deal, she'll make a note of the kids of materials he uses for alchemy and ritualism. Whenever she bring him something to work with for her, it's likely she'll just so happen to have come across some extra goodies she thought he'd be interested int.

What part are you trying to replicate for that. For my FE I just wanted to copy the two warring kingdoms with choices depending on whether you're east or west.
