I think a space theme is alright. I did like the Mirrodon kind of futuristic shit, same with the Alara block, but the art overall has taken a huge slide since then, and I don't know much about it. I don't think I have any cards from it.

you dont, had an early godhand with Parhelion 2 out early on turn 3 or 4, and a friend had a total crashout resulting in insta scooping - which of course meant the other players had to scoop too.
with an early Parhelion, you are still 3 entire turns/combats away of killing the first out of 3 opponents, there is plenty of time to at least try to figure something out.
The kicker is: there are Voltrons in our playgroup that take out a player, and the whole table even, quicker. one of which is even in the roster of the one that had the meltie

Dinosaurs are strong because they got a post FIRE set dedicated to them and a handful of good cards since then in other sets. If Dinosaurs are pushed then so are Insects and pirates because they got some recent sets and post-2020 cards too.

Zombies meanwhile have always been over supported and they continually get new cards ensuring they've remained relevant as power creep ratchets up.

All the green landfall shit is pretty good. Icetill and especially Horizon Explorer are MVPs in Tifa and Famished Worldsire is a nuke. Frenzied Baloth is also a nice word salad utility beatstick for only GG. The other colors and space stations have been pretty underwhelming but I really like Weapons Mnufacturing and am thinking of building a Sivriss/Street Urchin deck with it soon.

As for the flavor, they could have done better but overall I liked it.

I want to build a fun Yeva, Nature’s Herald deck that’s cheap. I don’t want to use craterhoof or some giga busted dinosaur or super power crept cards.

I want stuff Uktabi orangutan or Indrik stomphowler, eternal witness etc. Does anyone who pilots this girl have suggestions or pointers? I think I can make it very cheap for around $50 since I won’t be running green suns zenith or survival of the fittest or other really strong green “staples.” The mana base might just be 34!forests and some mana elves


Also is it possible to make a cute frog tribal deck, or ANY tribal deck outside the big tribes (goblins, dragons, zombies, soldiers, etc)? I think bloomburrow has some neat tribal interaction but there doesn’t seem to be any place where I can engage with it anymore.

Anon that's not financially plausible. Releasing ONE underpowered set after an OP set (Masques, OG Kamigawa) is already financially disastrous. It's suicidal to intentionally release duds for over two years in a row because you're both causing the meta to stagnate AND not moving any cards off the shelf in that time.

This is literally why Type 2 ended up failing at the goal it set out to accomplish. Sure you're no longer competing against the design mistakes from the start of the game's lifespan anymore, but you're still perpetually competing against the strongest cards from the last set.

When you cast a spell, you put it on the stack, which is a separate zone.
So the permanent card you cast from exile would be entering from the stack, rather than from exile.

It's also better with flicker than with casting exiled, since when you flicker the creature entering will also get a counter, but when you cast something from exile only the things already on the board will get counters.

Vedalken orrery and Vivien, champion of the wilds can serve as redundancies for Yeva. Temur sabertooth will be an all star for reusing ETB effects and retriggering creature based draw effects like soul of the harvest and elemental bond. I kind of wish they didn't nerf the black color so much in this, I am a big fan of the aesthetics of black cards in the set. But I don't know how much of it will be usable in a commander deck, unless I do a exile focus deck and I'm not a big fan of how those decks play.

Was thinking of building this, the king shit at LGS plays a suped up (pun-intended) Justice League deck and it just about wipes every other deck. I know James and the Giant Peach is super popular but even it has no chance against Justice League.

Another thought, pirates of the caribbean is literally next week and terminator two weeks after that. So maybe I should hold off to find out what's the current hotness? I'd love to take this guy out, I know my wallets are deeper than his.

I played this card once. I NEVER got a card out of it, every straight refused, even when near death. Been batting around the Knight deck thing again, looking through commanders since I'm already doing Syr Konrad for the Snow-Covered + Extraplanar thing, why bother doing only mono-white for Knights?
I've seen some cool ones, from the more normal with Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir (A deck I had before), Jeskai Eowyn who cares about humans, Boros Elizabeth Taggerdy who gives draw and lets you play creatures smaller than her power on attack, Celes for Mardu grave knights, Adriana for blanket Melee, etc. Anyone have any opinions on Knights for a bracket 2-ish thing? Maybe 3 if I like the way it's playing.

Pinnacle Emissary has been the single best add for modern affinity or jhoira cheerio spam. One mana to make a 1/1 token for each artifact you play is super good.

Also, why does bracket 4 have the biggest range of decks? At its floor, it's any pile of jank with enough game changers (or god forbid, land destruction), and it's ceiling is fringe cedh. Every issue I've had playing in this zone are gaslit players who don't run interaction.

"Partner with" is as close as it gets but even that's not even close. Imagine Vivi Cauldron in Standard but you have 12 tutor creatures that specifically find your Vivi and when Vivi gets played he puts Cauldron onto the field and jumps into it while your tutor creatures that found the Vivi instantly get +1+1 counters and have various other effects like gaining protection or destroying an opponent's permanent when they activate a Vivi effect applied by Cauldron. Might want to choose another word that's an antonym to manifest/cloak like solidify, decloak, unmask (we have card name and mechanic name overlap already), or something else to that effect.

Aside from that I see what the intent is and as someone else who enjoys some face downs I also wish we had some kind of fixer for ETBs on facedowns. This is probably the most sane way of going about it.
The only thing is that if you're making a deck based on getting important ETBs you're better off just making a flicker deck which is already in those colors and you're just adding a lot of unnecessary complexity to turn them on.
It also feels like this card is over centralizing to what the deck would want to do and without it up your deck becomes dysfunctional.
Can you give a specific example of a card you would want to enable with this commander?

Esper Sentinel is kinda a pain in the ass, but I don't see it as a huge problem in EDH.

I like the idea of a thief of sanity.dek where you play your opponent's stuff, but how good is it actually? I keep imagining situations where you spend all your mana on exiling stuff from the opponent's deck, only to get stuff you can't cast because its too expensive, or stuff that is too synergistical to their gameplan and that doesn't do much for you. It seems too slow, even for casual tables. Anyone got experience with it?

Esper Sentinel is only as good as he is because he is a one drop, and can draw you a decent amount of cards when he is played turn one, whgen greedy commander players want to develop their boards ASAP - much like mystic remora.

Plus you extra value for playing stuff you don't own, plus you deny cards to your opponents like opposition agent. And if you're doing Don Andres you're also yoinking enemy creatures and sacrificing them.

Is it actually reasonable to play this in Zedruu? Seems like it can double as a boardwipe and fuel for Zedruu in the lategame. Thieves Auction would've worked for this if it didn't tap all the permanents and leave me open for a whole turn cycle.

I kinda wish there was a permanent scramble-y effect like this that evened them out among players instead of doing it randomly.

I don't know how that would translate to magic. Its element is water, so probably at least blue, but I imagine they'd make it izzet too. Maybe something to do with scrying and naming cards. Maybe rip off some of the miracle casting that Aminatou had? I am a big fan of "cards in your hand have [insert casting mechanic]" like Jhoira and Bohn.

You accuse others of looking for outside solutions to their problems while bemoaning your inability to solve them yourself. Never does the thought occur to you that there are tools you can use to address these problems, but that the tools need to be calibrated.

Adderall absolutely does help with ADHD, assuming that it is prescribed by a responsible doctor who follows up on how it's affecting you and works with you to arrive at the correct dosage. Being medicated is a huge part of what allows me to run D&D campaigns, build decks, and engage with my hobbies fully. It focuses my internal monologue INTO a monologue, when it would otherwise just be vague and incoherent noise. I've gone off of it several times due to external factors, and the things that have suffered most have invariably been the things I actually value, rather than just my work.

If you decide that a treatment option isn't for you, that's fine. But don't go and stigmatize a perfectly legitimate source of assistance that can make others' lives more fulfilling.
