Hard to say, but I think Kaoru would be double Neutral. Or maybe Dark Neutral, or Neutral Chaos? Basically, her whole deal is "nah I don't trust anyone who might impose their will on humanity, I will carve my own way and ensure those who do claim power are good" I'm not sure if there's any SMT characters that have a similar vibe, but if Kaoru were an SMT protagonist, say, like a Nahobino or a Demi-Fiend (my SMT knowledge is limited), she would try to go for the true ending where you kill God AND Satan or whatever. Dark as an alignment means someone egotistical and destructive. For a good guy, it means someone who would prioritize destroying evil over saving good. The sort who if they knew that killing a bad guy would result in the death of an innocent, would accept that trade if it's their best shot at killing the bad guy.

Dark neutral as a good guy is probably a human supremacist who wants to slaughter all supernatural beings regardless of their temperament or even if they're an ally like an Idolon. Neutral Chaos sounds more like Kaoru to me.

Honestly I don't think it applies well, at least with the second part of the alignment system. She likes both peace and freedom, and values restraint and emotions equally. She's also not inherently against taking sides or a die-hard fan of the status quo. So she's a mix of law and chaos, but also doesn't fit the alignment system's neutral middle ground either. Light VS Dark she's cleanly in Light.

Depends on how you want to argue it. If it's based on the canon franchise characters, then Madoka would slot in with The Lovers. If we're being more direct and focusing on the cards themselves, then she's probably The Sun.

Kohaku is Dark-Chaos. It will come up when Team Ken tries to recruit him, but the only thing keeping him from joining Humanity Lost is Tai. He and Kenji are foils, because Kohaku respects Tai enough to listen when it says this is a bad idea, while Kenji disregarded his waifu's warnings.

Tai is Dark-Neutral, but leans Neutral-Neutral. It's but a simple worm spirit that humanity attributed malevolence to, but it has never fully given to the demonic power.

Kohaku is The Lovers, he defines himself around relationships and connections. The above spoiler is what separates him from being a Devil Arcana consumed by debauchery and impulse.

ngl, I'm uncertain if Neutral on the Light-Dark spectrum has any specific meanings, so I'm treating it purely as a middle ground. Someone who wants to punish their foes and save their friends in equal measure. Someone with enough ego to question people's actions, but not so much ego that they entirely disregard other people's viewpoints.

Meanwhile Chaos is more direct. It's someone who chaffs under excessive rules and struggles to slot into society like a good little cog. Someone that'd put more weight on personal loss and struggle over the letter of the law. Putting them together, you have a morally grey skeptic who does what they think is right and doesn't care so much about common sense... Which fits pretty well with how Kaoru manages things like Ai. She sees Ai's perspective, but still distrusts her, and she didn't turn Ai in even though that would be the conventionally smart choice.

If we're sticking to persona logic, it's better to assume arcana isn't going to change.

Honestly I wouldn't say Kaoru truly fits Judgement even outside of the game trends. Judgement which is right before the last arcana is someone with barely any room for character development left. It's not someone who passes judgement on others, it's someone fully comfortable with themselves because they've run the full gambit of their journey of self-discovery, such that they can truly judge themselves too. It's more of an introspective and spiritual pursuit of truth than a factual detective-y one.

SEES fit it because they'd all completed their journeys and faced themselves. Sae fits it because she was forced to truly confront herself due to the MC's actions. And that's why it's typically a group social link for the end of the game, or an (adult) outside NPC. It's associated with completion and maturity in a way that isn't fit for plucky teens trying to figure out their lives.

It's a weird nuance, but judgement is more like "I've reached the point where I can make decisions confidently because I completely understand myself." The emphasis is less on needing to make a choice, and more on the emotional maturity to be resolved in your choices even after seeing how messy and complicated reality is.

As for Moon VS Justice, they both fit Kaoru well.

Justice as an arcana is about seeing and fighting against unfairness. It's a more on the nose arcana, and the only nuance to keep in mind is that the unfairness is subjective. Someone like Itsuro who thinks Shu's mere existence is unfair would work for Justice just as well as Kaoru.

Moon as an arcana is about being lost and confused. It's less about someone who's mysterious to others and more about someone who's struggling to maintain faith in themselves and the world around.

I'm not sure on allignment. Either Neutral Neutral or Dark Neutral.
He'd CLAIM to be Neutral Neutral, and depending on your view, he may be. For Neutral Neutral it's the idea that he's closer to a 'creature in the ecosystem', and would be associated with cryptids or lesser deities and not demons. Also essentially saying that he isn't dark and is just a product of his environment, his actions being neither good nor evil, just self-serving, and him then justifying this with "everyone is inherently a piece of shit who is mean to me and if they disagree they're lying". Absolving himself of responsibility by refusing to engage and blaming everyone else feels very Tetsuya to me. The other option you could see him as is Dark Neutral because he's a massive self-serving asshole misanthrope with very few redeemable qualities (he likes and cares for his rat and would do so for other animals :) (that's it)) and just because he pretends it's justified being an asshole that doesn't mean it's right.

In this comparison, Kohaku's routes in order of ease of recruiting him would look like

We know the least about who is actually behind this route and what their reasons are, but Kohaku would be easy to onboard for this. Possibly connected to the Evil Stars.

Well, due to some things I have planned, after a writefag with Sumi, the next stop is back to Grandmei and Mei. So that Itsuki can learn how to use his Awakened Powers, as of now, he has them, but has no idea of how to use them, which will be steered by both Sumi and Grandmei's teachings. Maybe I steal a plot beat from Bleach, where Ichigo trains to learn how to use Bankai, I will see it in time.

Chaos for sure. Dark depends. Light-Dark doesn't mean good or evil. Any alignment can be a good or a bad person. It's more about egoism. Dark means you only think that your views are right, and fuck everyone who doesn't agree because you want to tear them down for being wrong.

Alternatively, Paradise lost where you side with the entity (Chaos Route B) could be law. There's a notable divide between physical and magical skills. Physical scales with strength and costs HP. Magical scales with intelligence and costs SP. Otherwise it's fairly simple elements (Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Light, and Dark). Light and Dark are unique for having instant death options. Fire and Ice innately have a status effect. Wind and Lightning are cheaper to cast.

Almighty exists yeah as a damage type, and it can't be resisted. Many sources of Almighty damage are fixed amounts, acting as legitimate true damage, like there's one almighty attack that deals damage and then heals the user, both by a fixed amount. There's also misc. skills that heal, buff, debuff, and inflict status effects like poison.

Lastly there's passive skills. They can boost certain element types, grant resistances to ailments or elements, increase evasion or critical rates, trade away evasion entirely for blanket damage reduction, etc, etc. There's even out of combat support passives that can change encounter rates, recover health or SP after combat, etc.

I think there’s some confusion because we may be confusing the idea of “danger” and “evil”. Ai might be unstable, volatile and genuinely dangerous, but she’s not malicious per se. Humanity Lost builds, how much do they know about Tetsuya and what are their initial impressions on him? My idea was he's gonna come across them and they'd (possibly reluctantly) try and recruit him, before he then makes where he stands very clear. I also thought it would be funny if they mistook for some mindless yokai or something before he calls them gay retards or something and they realize who he is. Then they have a short scuffle where he gets his ass kicked before making a strategic retreat. Ai’s threat level fluctuates between self-directed and externally displaced depending on her emotional saturation.
The introduction of Shu into her life and the subsequent broadening of her social circle really amped the risk of her harming others. Her mental state and mistreatment of herself followed more or less defined patterns fueled by self hate and psychosis (breakdowns, weird rituals, obsessive compulsions, etc). But now there's the added risk of her lashing out to others.
The outward lashings need not have coherent triggers; her cognition interprets symbolic cues as real threats. As you said she's volatile, unstable and dangerous, but the line between stalker devotion and protective assault is hair-thin. Anyone trying to intervene “for her own good” can easily become a target, because intervention reads as interference and that might include Kaoru if things go south.
Also, for Ai, Kaoru’s attention validates existence in a weird way but also adds a new variable since she’s no longer contained in solitude, so the probability of an externalized episode increases. That said, I too love writing them. Here's hoping they become besties for real.

For Ran, the simplest would be his brother waking up from the coma. For a more extensive one, it could be a dream of having a happy, well-functioning family. For a sadder take, it could be a dream of a changed past where it's Ran that landed in a coma and his brother is fine.
For an aspect of "here it's imperfect and the illusion breaks", it'd be sweeping Ran's past and his fuckups under a rug. Like the brother being completely fine and not mentioning what happened or finding Ran completely blameless, the family pretending Ran is a faultless member of society, or the whole part about changing the past. What happened happened, denying that isn't helping. Ran needs to learn to live with it, move on and become better, but he knows who he is and what he's done, so he won't try to excuse his past or pretend it doesn't exist.

Parfaite is perfect— at least she tries to be, and many of her peers believe so. He somewhat had it before thanks to Monster and Linked Vengeance, but that required him or his allies to get hurt first, and it got reworked in the update. This seemed a good way way to substitute that a bit. Sadly it's less of a deterrent from targeting his allies instead of him without that stamina drain effect, but it should help get to them before an ally can get hurt and then try to physically stop it.

What I do with Kaoru is combine it with Monkey Wit to have a full Spider-Sense. She also has it as a Demi-Idolon ability, although I don’t think she’s gonna pull off Ultra Instinct maneuvers in the real world. For Ran, I mostly thought of it in terms of combat instincts (especially combined with Parry) and battlefield tactics (where is it best to position himself, rather than large scale spidey sense, although some "I have a bad feeling about this" could happen (like with the haunted home). In the real world, he doesn't have demi idolon for that, but some combat instincts are still there with bancho/rioter.

Can only speak for Kenji, but he doesn't know much about Tetsuya - he doesn't stand out enough in terms of character design, so the camera rarely falls on him (and iirc you said he skips school pretty often, but I might be misremembering). As of now its mostly pity for how he seems alone all the time, but after they talk for a while it would quickly shift to annoyance since Tetsuya is basically the opposite of Kenji's idealization of Tokiwa-chan (pessimistic asshole who hates everything vs manic pixie dream girl).

I doubt any of the HLA think he's an Awakened (at least Kenji and Rin don't, based on their charts), so stumbling across him in a bleeding zone seems like it would be a good way to handle a reveal/meeting. If they meet as a group I can see Itsuro trying to extend a hand to join the team, and after verbally destroying the whole group, Tetsuya throws one mild insult at Kentaro who immediately starts trying to beat Tetsuya's ass.

As of 'The Usual Suspects' the HLA split into two teams like >>96830173 said. Encountering them as a complete group is still an option though, either exchanging information, if they're doing a scheme to misdirect Yae as mentioned in 'Conspirators', or a similar group effort. Maybe they meet up when Kenji or Rin detect a Bleeding Zone explicitly so they can identify any Awakened that happen to arrive?

We know the most about him in terms of abilities because he actually has a sheet.

42nd of the 100 Demons. Described as humanoid and dressed in a Jester's motley, and pic related was the FC used. Powers are nebulous, but likely related to fire ('Wickerman our ass') and dreams. Seems to respect the Warlord Kakito, dislikes the other named Yokai.

4th of the 100 Demons. Arguably the strongest character in the MP thus far, even though his only 'appearance' was a near death experience from Alyona. Mentioned by the Baku, though their ranks aren't given. We know nothing about them in the MP, but in real life the Omukade is a massive Centipede while an Ogama is a Toad that lives a really long time and grows to human (or larger) sizes. Ogama is mentioned in Rin's Relationship Chart, so he might have recruited her to the demon's side like Baku recruited Kenji.

I'm excited to see the rest of the 100 - doubt we'll get all of them, but there's enough 'free spots' that anons don't need to feel constrained in making up a bunch.

I do specify though that his wounding was a bit particular, rather than a flat out defeat. In the confrontation between Tomaki and Warlord Kakito, Kakito easily ripped away the boys arms. When Tomaki went to headbutt the Oni in return, it was the moment he Awakened. In how I interpreted Greater Yokai in the beastiary, they're actually more real than other Idea's and Tomaki's awakening in that way made the world start to bleed and this shunted the Warlord away because he was no longer complete.

Tomaki himself is also very sore about not having a direct fight with the Oni too but is too cocky about it.

Maybe I should roll a dice to gamble what number demon he is...

Chaos is usually worse, because while being a cogdrop in a machineocean for eternity is most certainly a weird-ass afterlife (until it inevitably gets fucked up), I'd say the chances that you suffer for a very, very, very long time are much higher in the average Chaos ending. Too many hellish torture demons to trust you'll be ended quickly. Also you'll most definitely be forced into a form of slavery, so really it's a lose-lose even if you go untortured. And being a torture slave isn't even out of the question.

Thanks for the Nurarihyon and Fushihara info, I remember reading about him in writefags but I needed a quick recap to make sure I was getting everything right. I needed to know because the antagonist of this writefag is a 4* Nightmare from Nurarihyon’s forces and he spouts vague shit about the death mark, he can even do things like cause it to feel like it burns for those who have it, so maybe he’s like a lesser lieutenant of Fushihara or something? Now I can be sure what the creative limits are, even if I could’ve also gotten that from re-reading writefags, but thanks.

Okay, I’m in a position where that can be changed, would it have to be a Yokai? Honestly I want to make sure this enemy fits into that plot just so I can write a story that advances a plot and not just furthers Kaoru’s arc. I initially picked a Nightmare because I read they can breach into reality and I need a time-sensitive plot device. Kaoru encounters this enemy, fights it, retreats and then decides to send a Persona 5 calling card to the Student Council because she can’t tell them to their face, but I need the sense of “this problem will get far worse over time” to go into this story.

I kinda wanted this enemy to be a one-off, and I had this cool idea where the enemy in question would be affecting the people that have death marks, and then Ai comes out of nowhere and stabs it because she doesn’t have one, letting everyone else dogpile on it. I feel like the CEO Nightmare probably needs a little more fanfare than that, a small arc where Kaoru investigates the disappearance of Marisa’s dad and everything. Also, I don’t know if the CEO Nightmare would work for the “characters see twisted illusions of what they want most and have to reject it” plot, if I could make it a Yokai from Nurayihon’s army that would probably work better. Unless Tetsuyanon tells me that might be something the CEO Nightmare would do, and even then, I’d have to make the CEO Nightmare retreat so he could be fully defeated another time.

What if it was an awakened with a death mark who got consumed by a nightmare eater, becoming a nightmare with a death mark, and Fushihara used his connection to that newly born Nightmare to hijack it and turn it into some kind of a thrall. The power it has over death marks is then said thrall borrowing it's masters power. Like anon said before, Fushihara is the most powerful entity we've been introduced to so far, so some hax like that seems fair.

You could even have some big boss monster aura farming at the end where Fushihara sees his thrall lost the fight and decides to drain him to death as a show of power.
