My endless efforts are starting to pay off. A Warhammer community is finally starting to form around me. Firstly, we've launched a campaign, with eight players already participating and even the sixth game played. Secondly, in five hours I'll be running an introducing game for another six people. Rosters for all of them are on pic.
It's ironic, back in June I thought that if I still couldn't find people to share hobby with me by the end of the summer, I'd burn all my miniatures and forget about 40k forever. But I succeeded. The Bible is true: "Knock, and the door will be opened to you!"

I play brute force with necrons mostly (2 monoliths) and use like 3 stratagems in the whole game over and over and it works, it works because despite it being brute force I can think "this obj card requires me to get into the middle, but currently his shooting is alive so thats stupid, so i'll hold if for next turn and teleport a unit there at the start of my next turn after i've dealt with his shooting" and it works

That would make a lot of sense if it was all connected geographically. Each book takes place in or around the 500 Worlds of Ultramar, and while they don't have many direct connections between them, all of them together paint a picture of the current state of the galaxy.

The best catch-all detachment for Drukhari is still Reapers Wager because the reroll 1s on hit works on everything in your army.
Staples for every list are: 2 Units of Scourges (1 DL, 1 HW) for anti-tank, 1 unit of Kabalite Warriors for sticky objectives, at least one venom to split them up, one unit of Mandrakes for screening and uppy downy objective play, Lelith and a unit of Wyches for a fights first threat against charges, Malys for a redeploy at start, and then either a unit of Incubi with Malys or Solo Drazhar or Solo Solitaire for a precision hammer. Another Venom and Raider for delivery of threats as needed. Hellions, Reavers, and Ravagers with disintegrators are all popular right now but more list dependent. Small Harlequins Troupe as well for flipping the wager on occasion. You can bring Cronos or Haemonculus to help with pain token management but not really necessary.

Toughness for Vehicles went up but the Melee/Melta options didn't go up to compensate.

Sure, shooting an S8 Melta at a land raider from max range would only scratch it but once you got inside Melta-range your chances of popping it shot up decently.
For whatever reason, GW wanted Melta/Krak to be S9 but don't seem to realize you're only grazing Transports at that Strength.
And bonus damage doesn't matter if you don't wound in the first place

As is, Melta is in a weird, anti-terminator are alongside Las-Fusils and Auto-cannosn where you are only wounding Transports on 4+

Eldar is probably the simplest out of that line up, especially sticking to canon schemes. Death guard is deceptively easy to make look decent due to their inherently dirty nature. You CAN start with those armies but, from experience, I can say a few of them will be bigger pains in the rear to work with than other.
Chaos has an issue in that there tends to be a LOT of trim to work around.

Eldar will have less of that, letting you work on the basics first.

Why is this setting so poorly utilized?
AoS has ghosts and underwater elves and tree people and shit, and yeah maybe that's not everyone's speed, but they're trying new things in a much smaller narrative pond than 40k.

Also, the Galaxy-spanning new problems and Hero Character shit is completely anti-ethical to what 40k is supposed to be about. It's a MOBA plot, is what it is.
