Here are the models I would consider safe, everything released in the last ten years for Dark Eldar.

The bomber is also probably safe, although flyers have been in a bad place for a long time and I wouldn't expect the next edition to change that. The Wracks are probably safe too, but they're kinda on the border

Literally everything else in the current DE range is from the big 5th edition release wave from 2010. That release included 26 new Dark Eldar kits. At this point, 17 of those kits are gone. So I wouldn't invest too heavily any of those that remain

Honestly they make building for me way less annoying. I have the same issue with overdoing it with a knife, particularly on backpacks and head. I use 600grit for big nubs and resin, 800-1000 for mouldlines, and 1200 for smoothing glue overspill, or smoothing out areas you've gapfilled. Also little cheat to make them last longer. Pick up a tub of cyberclean from best buy. It's a little tub of green slime used to pull crumbs out of computer keyboards, and it'll also pull the majority of plastic dust from a sanding stick so they'll last you way longer.

Not an army, I mean. However, I once bought little kits here and there if I wanted to try something out. I would get bored half way through, and it wouldn't get done. Then the models just sit there. No-one is going to buy them, I am not going to use them, and I don't even have any plans for them e.g. Using them as part of basing/terrain pieces. To give one example, I went to a local group 'selling' day. We turned up and we sold random tosh we didn't want anymore, from atrocities we sold for nothing, to pristine OOP kits that hadn't been opened. I sold almost all of my tosh, but couldn't shift my painted Ork boyz and grots. They aren't painted that badly to the best of my knowledge, and even when I lowered the price to criminally low levels (£10/15$ for the lot, this includes about 20 Boyz and 10 grots). I couldn't shift them.
