Is is worth it to fly first class to these destinations for relaxation, culture, and adventure?

Starting point Europe
(Country irrelevant because first class flights are not in every country)

Argentina + Chile

Australia + New Zealand + Antarctica
>also makes sense to see Oceania, possibly flying to SE Asia for a trip and then going from there

I have the funds easily for two people and could do a trip each year, but I'm not a fan of long distance flying so it's better if the trip is a one time thing or has shorter stops than a long haul

Australia/NZ you will probably have lots of Indians so I would fly first class. Not sure about Argentina but I will let you know about that in the new year

went on Qatar Airways qsuite and business class 8 and 5 hours respectively

The upgrade to business class is worth it 100% of the time. The upgrade to first I think never, unless you're flying with a Europoor airline that has a business class from 40 years ago (e.g. Lufthansa on some planes).

Business is the sweet spot to go for, first is a waste in most regards unless you have 'fuck you money' levels and wouldn't be asking 4chan about it.

I hate to tell you this but the destinations you listed are going to be ~50/50 Chinese outside the South American one which probably isn't worth a 1st class. It's going to be 'cattle' as you call it just in a different way.

If you cross an ocean it's worthwhile, but outside of that I'd stick with the cheapest option with decent legroom. Cross continental, I'd rather spend more time on a train than less time in the air

That’s a question only you can answer. I wouldn’t personally consider it for a flight under about fifteen hours; maybe one of your South American options includes a leg that long, but I don’t think a flight to Japan from anywhere in Europe is likely to be much over the twelve-hour mark. For me, business class is more than comfortable enough for that. I also wouldn’t bother booking an itinerary with multiple connecting legs as a single first-class ticket, because while the carriers may be happy to offer you a first-class markup, they’re (obviously) not flying three-cabin planes between, for example, Tokyo and Sapporo. You might not even get a real business class seat—I once had a “business class” connection inside Europe that was just the front of a little Airbus with the middle seat blocked off.

And I wouldn’t book a longer or less convenient itinerary just to have a first-class option, unless you’re specifically looking forward to the first class experience.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’ll admit that I wouldn’t ever book a first-class flight on my own dime. I’ve flown first a few times, but only with miles/upgrades. I don’t even like using my own money to buy business class tickets, although I occasionally do. But I’m cheap, and have a high tolerance for discomfort.

I always thought it's not worth it and if you have the money to fly private but there are places I want to see and I iust don't like air travel, so I thought it's worth it now if you are going the distance. Still it's something to ponder and plan. Another way to make the trip is to make stops along the way which works going east but not so much west, you gotta cross an ocean either way to reach the Americas, and going Iceland - Greenland - Canada etc all the way down to Argentina just blows

If you care about value you use points and miles to upgrade to first class for a fraction of the price of a retail ticket. Also, when you fly First you have to factor in things like First Class lounges (Doha and Dubai have the best ones), which give you an experience an order of magnitude better than you'll get from a business class lounge.

I mean, I suppose that’s true, for a small number of people. But private is orders of magnitude more expensive than first. I technically have the money to fly first (I don’t do it, and wouldn’t do it, but if I needed to, I could buy a few first-class tickets without going broke), but I don’t have anywhere near enough money to fly private long-hauls. You can get a first-class ticket between Europe and Asia for what you’d need to spend PER HOUR to make the same trip on a private jet.

Anyone here who claims to be okay with spending $100,000+ on a single flight (because they are a crypto brazilianaire who retired at sixteen and is now planning to move to Switzerlandsingaporenorway from their mother’s basement in Ohio, obviously) is lying at best, phenomenally stupid at worst.

People that aren’t fans of sitting around in overpriced restaurants or waiting at the gates and like a few drinks, snacking or an OK meal, and some relative quiet while not having to watch your stuff like a hawk the whole time. It makes getting to the airport early enough to never have to stress about security or lines not so taxing knowing you can just head into the lounge to kill time.
