If it were persona with fire emblem it would have sold, that's really the problem here. The problem is that it somehow managed to be a game that mashed together persona, smt, and fire emblem, and ended up being literally none of those things. It didn't have the dating sim elements that would have appealed to persona fans, it didn't have the tone, world and deeper gameplay systems (demon summoning etc) that would have appealed to smt fans, and it didn't even actually have the characters or gameplay elements that would have appealed to fe fans.
It was a fanservice game with no fanservice, in every meaning of the word. It was a game meant to appeal to 3 different groups of people and somehow managed to miss the mark on each of them entirely. Hell, you can throw in a fourth group of people, idolfags, who they tried to appeal to and fucking failed because idolfags don't want to play a fucking dungeoncrawler. It is honestly impressive how bad they fucked it up.

This game was so fun until I started the pin up model act and was incredibly confused because she is nervous as an idol to get her picture taken wearing an outfit that shows LESS skin than what she normally wears. Then the side quest of the hag going to Guam for a beach photo shoot wearing the same ridiculous outfit. They will never release an uncensored version because Japan has fallen.

There are some things that I wish they did better gameplay and story wise because there are some interesting things they did but I don't see it happening especially now. I guess you could mod the game but it's not at the point where it could be considered "advanced". The gameplay as it is is pretty comfy and you can come up with some pretty disgusting builds if you put the time in it. It's too bad that the game was given to people that unironically lack any performa. Tsubasa best girl.

I played the switch version recently and the gameplay was actually not that bad. There was still some depth to the turn-based strategy and boss fights. The story was pretty nothing but I still enjoyed the dumb stuff. Little do people know, but the scene leading up to the FAIAAAA EMUBREMU musical was pretty 1:1 with the 13th Emblem scene in Engage.

Tsubasa's healing potential is good but it could come too late to justify it. You CAN get her final ad-lib by chapter 3 intermission, I believe. Played it without having played SMT or FE and i loved it. Played it twice. Probably will a third time. Censored shit sucks, but it boils down to not using the 2 censored costumes or 2-3 abilities that showcase the censored outfits. Still plenty of game there. That outfit wasn't censored per se, it was a beta design and got changed prior to localization.
The censorship was very inconsistent, mostly limited to Tsubasa and even then spread out very unevenly, the largest change was the bikini in the modelling arc being entirely changed for an urban outfit, but the bikini itself is still in the game and appears in the Amrita Shower commercials and the ad lib attack.
The only outfits that got proper censored were the Feel and Fly costumes,for the Feel cosume the bra was slightly enlarged and a camisole was added, while the Fly wedding dress was left the same but the naked parts of the body were painted white, both of these changes are pretty weird because Tsubasa's base Carnage form shows more skin than either costume did even in their original appearance.

Yes, there is another ending if you complete everyone's side stories. You also have to talk with everyone in the epilogue so don't forget that.

This and the mindless repetition is what killed it for me. The social link system was annoying getting texts constantly 'ganbare' smiley face XD. Every time you have the potential to upgrade a weapon or ability you get a notification and then have to navigate back to the Fortuna Office and talk to tiki to actually upgrade. If you complete the game a good two hours is skipping dialogue and animations with tiki. I wanted to like this game but it's just mind numbingly bad in some areas.

I feel like Tsubasa getting Ayaha back so early in, and then the latter just integrates back into society despite being in a very public mass-disappearance event - of whom we find out later that many people in that just straight up died or became ghosts - just kind of exemplifies how the writers didn't want to venture too deep into uncomfortable or dark territory, despite both IS and Atlus known for doing so before, and I think it's just reflective of the game just running out of steam after the first few chapters. That, and the fact the game essentially auto-plays itself after a certain point, and the Session mechanic just creams anything that isn't a boss, it's not a very demanding JRPG by any means.

As said, I think a modern world in which FE characters are ghosts of a land long forgotten is a very neat concept, and I like the music and color of that modern world the game leverages, but it just stops way too short to be called a meaningful play - I'm talking like 50-yard line short, forget the touchdown zone. You can make an argument the censorship stuff may have hurt game sales, but I think it would've petered out anyways really quick, because the game doesn't shout its soul, just kinda does a Howard Dean-tier "Yee-haw!", then quickly burns out.
