Start from North grace, pull NE giant out as far as you can and as best you can make sure giant is always between you and the SE in case the SE giant throws pots. Is that normal? Is it really not even worth checking the chests for consumables and weapons with good passives? It’s like 5-10 seconds and you only really need one good weapon, while the rest only matter for the passives, which I believe are of the same random quality regardless of whether they dropped from a chest or a boss.

There are consumables everywhere, and you can even use them without picking them up. honestly you could probably have like an 80% weapon grease uptime the whole run effortlessly.

There are a few things I think needs improvement, outside guardian blocking/guard counters is shit and even then a lot of them suck like the holy burst guard counter since the aoe is so small. It just feels bad to get your 4th guard counter passive on recluse.

Higher tier weapons have higher tier passives, and smithing stones don't upgrade those.
I open and grab everything until I have all weapon slots filled, then usually stick to what's in my path. I'll go out of my way for stonesword key, bow, sacred seal, and starlight shard spots, or to open chests in the central castle and areas with bleed/frost or a desirable attribute.

I usually ignore consumables since I never remember to use them anyway. I take a quick look to see if there's any smithing stones or starlight shards, but if there's not I take off. Usually the same for weapons, I'm also typically playing recluse though so I don't want to waste a slot on a shitty white/blue weapon with no element damage when I could have another casting tool instead. Also honestly your inventory is going to be filled up with low quality trash from boss drops before too long, grabbing the low quality trash from chests isn't really important.

Pick up holy, lightning, and fire weapons. That combo gives you a white lightning strike, which is really slow to cast and slow to actually take effect, but does tremendous damage and stagger damage. Have it ready and drop it on Libra when he starts his buff ritual and it'll usually break the shield all on its own, at least until Libra starts buffing himself too fast for it to work.

God damn I enjoy this game a lot but I can't play with randoms, it's just too much of a mixed bag to commit an hour to a run just to end up having shitters wipe to the last boss repeatedly. Playing with friends is night and day and even on our shittiest runs we still clear every time.
Maybe that's the problem and there's some matchmaking shenanigans in the background where struggling players are paired with people with lots of clears, but guiding people around and getting them good stuff only does so much if their skill just isn't there.
