There are consumables everywhere, and you can even use them without picking them up. honestly you could probably have like an 80% weapon grease uptime the whole run effortlessly.

I open and grab everything until I have all weapon slots filled, then usually stick to what's in my path. I'll go out of my way for stonesword key, bow, sacred seal, and starlight shard spots, or to open chests in the central castle and areas with bleed/frost or a desirable attribute.

I usually ignore consumables since I never remember to use them anyway. I take a quick look to see if there's any smithing stones or starlight shards, but if there's not I take off. Usually the same for weapons, I'm also typically playing recluse though so I don't want to waste a slot on a shitty white/blue weapon with no element damage when I could have another casting tool instead. Also honestly your inventory is going to be filled up with low quality trash from boss drops before too long, grabbing the low quality trash from chests isn't really important.

Shields can be surprisingly good weapons. One time as Recluse I picked up a sacred kite shield cause it had golden parry on it and I figured I could parry Elemer if needed. The Frenzied Flame seal and Vyke's War Spear are currently only available through the Frenzied Flame tower event, both drop from the rare orb that you get from finishing the event. The Frenzied Flame seal's set spell is The Flame of Frenzy, obviously.

God damn I enjoy this game a lot but I can't play with randoms, it's just too much of a mixed bag to commit an hour to a run just to end up having shitters wipe to the last boss repeatedly. Playing with friends is night and day and even on our shittiest runs we still clear every time.
Maybe that's the problem and there's some matchmaking shenanigans in the background where struggling players are paired with people with lots of clears, but guiding people around and getting them good stuff only does so much if their skill just isn't there.

book it towards the center castle, start at the ravine and look for the boss in the basement, if Bell Bearing Hunter then BAIL, if not kill them and proceed past them for a free talisman, proceed upwards and if RNG is kind to you the banished knights/crucible knights shouldn't give you much trouble as you farm levels, if you get giants well you might be fucked.

use the shards you found to upgrade, buy bubbletears or FP shards, wending grace is most important. good luck on the boss.
