All that matters for Nintendo is to secure the exclusive clause. They don't need a larger percentage of TPC. They also aren't a public company, all deals would need to be private and thus honour all previous agreements. Not to mention how utterly unaffordable the Pokémon IP even is, it's a stalemate. See, that's because as I get older you start valuing your time more so things that waste it become less desirable and that was the name of the game with PlayStation and a solid chunk if third parties from the very beginning. They wowed peoole with cutscenes that didn't really represent what the game looked like and filled games to the brim with them.

Nintendo being Nintendo one the other hand, despite the trend of tricking customers with these cutscenes, just focused entirely on the gameplay and still do to this day having very few games that aren't close to 100% player driven. So they appeal more to the older player who know better than to fall for the lie of graphics and just want to play at their own leisure. Nintendo aren't the only ones doing this either, that's why souls games are big too, the lore isn't particularly important, you only really get an intro, ending cutscenes and boss intros.

They've been getting too comfy crutching on their online sub money and cuts from microtransactions on games like Fortnite, sports shit, and CoD that if the few whales of theirs move on it is actually big issue.
