Why would they need updates? The Series X is slightly stronger than the PS5 and has been since launch. The PS5 Pro uses the same outdated CPU as the base console, I think it is like a measly 10% stronger but you're paying $800 after taxes for a very slight upgrade. A PC and switch is all you need for 99.9% of games, you can emulate bloodborne now at 4k 60fps stable to completion. Stellar Blade is on PC and the only games you actually would miss out on is AstroBot and the demon souls remake (a very bad remake unfortunately). Ironically owning just a PS5 would make you miss out on 1000s of games from PC and Nintendo.

Kim is a massive PlayStation simp anon, like Shift Up is a fully signed Sony second party studio, not just for Stellar Blade. The second party studio bit is important since that means that they still have a lot of autonomy, but basically Kim so easily did that because PlayStation was his dream console to release his games on, that and Sony will just handle all the marketing and promotion and even pay for their games now for basically nothing. You have to remember, while Stellar Blade being funded by Sony started way before Nikke released, Shift Up became an official second party studio like an entire year/year and a half or so after Nikke released so this is relatively recent all things considered.

Stopped using anything alltogheter when:
-Rampant anti-japanese mentality started hence why i sold my PsVita for the 3ds
-Killed off Japan studio
-New chinese made ds4 controllers keep shitting themself after a month
-Killed off PS communities in favor of Discord
-Increased online prices for garbage sony online that still gets hacked off every month
