Anyone else find IFVs more fun to play than tanks?

There's a reason why everyone in the War Thunder "esports" scene just uses the fastest APFSDS slugger they can find (typically some form of M1 Abrams or Russian bullshit machine).

War Thunder, retard. World of Tanks has premium ammunition that is objectively better than non-premium ammunition. You PAY to SHOOT.

Russians are already experimenting with it, which means it'll be in War Thunder in a couple of weeks (after getting leaked on the forums tomorrow).

They are for fags that are afraid of getting into the actual battle and just hide behind a hill and launch missiles. I'll take a tank with an autocannon secondary any day.

IFV are basically real life closest take on mecha now.
You could say helicopter but nowadays they can't even hide behind trees and will go down using small arms.

>>712649017
And it's true. Even without drones, artillery shoot guided shells on moving vehicles.
>>712649115
>>Remote machineguns on tank rooftops are now AI controlled
>>Shoot down drones faster than the drone operator can even spot the tank
You need to go one step above and shoot down incoming shells to have a comeback.

Also with that level of AI turret you can make AI ground-drone that headshot everything humanoid like an aimbot.

I disagree with anon but to be honest, there's lot of room for AI visual recognition becoming able to shot down majority of drone.
Up to the point you'd need drones capable of camouflage mid-air, ruining significantly their cost advantage.

The real question is whether we can make such fancy turrets small and cheap enough to match drone production.

It's way easier to spot a flying object moving at high speed than it is to spot a stationary object in the middle of a treeline.

That depends on many factors.
The fast flying object typically has a significant IR signature, and the real trick is to intercept it quickly enough before it get to you.
A stationary drone in the treeline has a very low IR signature, but you need self/wire-guided ones to no have a detectable EM signature.

If you are only detecting using the visual spectrum, you need seriously quick and efficient AI.
The real difficulty will be making the system + turrets (ideally multiple of them sharing position from multiple angle) cheap enough.

And despite me posting this pic, I expect future AI to be well-trained enough to immediately detect such treachery, contact an human, or kill the target once it make the slightest mistake.

War Thunder. I would have said WoT a very long time ago but the game doubled down on bullshit instead of correcting it. Fuck dissecting and pixel hunting retarded premium bunkers with RNG dispersion. War Thunder has bullshit too but overall just get on the side of something and you can kill it, a WW2 tank can one shot a modern MBT.

IDK about 1 unit made experimental wunderwaffen but probably some modern wheeled APC, those get to highway speeds pretty easily.
