I was contemplating the FE6/7 multi generation remake and I realized something. Mark has dick for practical options that wouldn't require a ton of extra writing leading into gen 2. As a circumstance of being a prequel game a bunch of the cast has very defined whereabouts.
You could still do it but you'd need to throw up quite a few rules. I think the most realistic take is that Mark is male locked with only a handful of love interests and his kid is a true MU in FE6. You'd only really have like, Lyn, Serra, Priscilla and the Pegasus sisters who don't come with baggage.

It's a structural issue not a purity test. Most people who pass on children in FE7 are male, the ones who aren't are still largely accounted for by the time of FE6. You'd need a bunch of different versions of the script to account for Mark being the mother of Roy or Lilina is you wanted Mark to pass anything down while having a kid of their own, way more than Fateswakening or Jugdral demand. Even Rebecca is complicated. Someone like Vaida even who has no romantic endings still goes to Bern in active service in every ending.

Welp, with that I ended my FE1 ironman run. It was... quite the bloodbath. The sheer amount of characters I lost is actually pretty disturbing. Frankly amazing I managed to pull through. My strategy of stat boosting Marth to hell and back was the only reason I did. Still, pretty good time, even if the random crits are complete bullshit.

As for the game as a whole... It's fine. I would say it's aged better than it has any right to mostly due to solid map design and having a solid core. Inventory management is the worst part of the game bar none, and there are some very weird and finnicky mechanics that aren't well explained (I still have no idea if Dragonkiller swords actually work on Wyverns), but it's pretty playable. I think what really ends up saving the game is that's it's not that hard. I mean, sure, I lost a ton of characters but outside of Macedonia I don't think the game is all that tough. Marth being as strong as he is basically means that getting a game over is pretty unlikely if you take care of him. Hardest points is probably the random crits, and even then I'm sure if I looked up how stats actually worked I could figure out which enemies are capable of them.

Translation is a bit rough. I've seen worse, but I've also seen way better. Assuming the Switch FE1 thing Nintendo made officially would be better. But far as I can tell that one isn't available.

The only reason I'm a superfan who has played every game in the series as of today is because IS decided to release an Awakening demo on the eshop in 2013. It's ridiculous to think of it that way, and maybe I would have been pulled in by something else, but there it is. It's not like I didn't know the series exist, I had considered buying Sacred Stones at Target years previous, but Awakening is what got me hooked.
No one wants to acknowledge the dumb luck factor because it takes away from a game's unique thunder, but consoomers need to know about and be able to easily play your game in order to be interested in it.
