Currently playing Death Stranding and I’m loving it so far. One of the extremely few AAA games I’m interested in 100%ing (dunno if I’ll bother with cheevos though). DS2 seems more combat oriented and seems like the world will be more populated and lively than the first one which gave this comfy and melancholic feeling of isolation that I really liked. DS2 should still be good though - my favorite parts of the first game where it’s focus on delivery and logistics and it’s unique tone that seems to comfort and encourage the player while also suddenly and abruptly scaring him with horror moments like the nightmare scenes and the BT encounters. It’s almost therapy in a videogame form. I’m hoping DS2 can maintain that energy while also bringing this new and innovative experience Kojima keeps talking about

He had access to the technology with PS3s advanced hardware. i also think that he should have made some gear for Snake to use where he could detect the path that those guards had taken that operates on detecting armpit sweat clouds in the air. it would have looked like night vision. the controller would vibrate more frequently the closer you get.

I think he’s always wanted to encourage mindfulness on the part of the player in whatever it is they’re doing (MGS is a stealth game so as to disincentivize violence and give its employment an added dimension, for example). In this respect Death Stranding is perhaps his most well designed game, one has to be mindful literally of every step one takes in that game. Not to mention the gameplay-to-cutscene ratio has improved dramatically in his latest works compared to earlier.

There's a lot of reasons, I think. First things first, kojima wasn't just a dev, he was an executive, he had control to assign budget places, like how he used to siphon budget from games like castlevania to pay into the metal gear solid series. 2nd, he seemed to have a lot of difficulty making the konami engine work on ps3/xbox360 which konami demanded mgsv to be on, which they did manage, which was really impressive.

Then, allegedly, the current lead of konami was a dude in the mobile department, which became really profitable, which is why he's in charge, but he wanted to be in game dev, however, kojima snubbed him and wouldn't let him join, or disrespected him, and there's bad blood between the two. There's also a lot more, shits rife with theories and possible fake/true info.
