The enthusiasm about some generic robot girl ITT reminds me of the "game" On Your Tail.
A lot of posts, drawfags and discussions about fucking the animals, but the game was a massive flop. I genuinely enjoyed the demo and I kinda want turboblast to succeed but seeing the level of interaction ITT I don't have much hopes. The anthro chick you speak of is barely relevant to the game from what I've seen in the demo. I didn't even see her on the title screen at first. Feels like she's just an afterthought and coombait instead of being her own character. Even the posters and other storytelling elements fail to make this character or the other robots believable, if that makes sense. I really hope it's only because the game is still at a demo stage. I don't know how to fix this, maybe give players a way to customize their appearance or include more characters while making their existence more prevalent in the menus/UI without sacrificing the core gameplay

I can't find the difference between spamming turbo as soon as its available during a drift or waiting for the entire bar to fill up before doing it.
Also the game wants you to be in drift all the time at all times apparently and for a racing game that feels weird, not even kart racers have you in drift constantly the entire race.

the drifting is very weird
it increases turn speed in the "inside" direction but greatly reduces turn speed in the outside direction so it's very easy to overshoot a turn and hit the inside wall and there's no really way to correct it because your countersteering is very limited.

it's shamelessly smashing together two f-zero gx tracks and some wipeout-style street circuit shit but has fucking TERRIBLE flow and no inertia because the boost pads and turns are all too far apart. it's indeed too long.
imo the cars lose inertia WAY too fast. you slow down after boosting very quickly and collisions are unnecessarily harsh. there aren't enough pads or jumps or turns to keep the inertia up.

it's okay but too easy to cheese and not very technical. the lack of vehicle inertia greatly bothers me because it is possible to simply drift everywhere and spam the boost button for free 700-900 km/h and that is ultimately what you end up doing, just hammering the boost button willy nilly for the entire lap

the point is to keep inertia up by boosting
you drift to gain boost/health, you can also do tricks off jumps for boost, you have an actual jump button, similar to mario kart, that you can use to gain height off both ramps and undulations in the road. however, if you fail the trick you lose speed AND boost.
while drifting there is a mariokart style microboost that has 3 levels of charge which you can just spam freely as long as you are drifting.
the basic idea is the same as f-zero gx except the game harshly punishes mistakes and while it has pretty decent content as far as music and assets (lol) as far as the racing goes it's a really shallow clone of f-zero gx with some extremely ill-fitting mario kart elements thrown in and lacks the mind melting speeds, tight controls, and top tier track design of its elder.
