See, I don't hate this inherently because the bosses are fun and I average 95 ping, so that part isn't so bad. It's the fact that the jobs are all built around what amounts to boring slow cooldown rotations in a complete contrast to them trying to spike up the action, which makes it feel completely divorced from what you're actually doing. The only reactions you really are making are movement, defense, and heals, besides occasional boss gimmicks that include encouraging a burst window like the Rathalos, and otherwise you're sliding along spamming a dramatic rotation for keeping the DPS check going.
For gameplay feel, that's kinda awful the more chaotic and hectic these battles get. For those with shittier ping and aren't using Noclippy or Alexander, the snapshotting is so utterly nightmarish that some of the harder content is genuinely unplayable without trial and error memorization beyond what an average player has to deal with. And way too many players are dealing with the latter, while everyone's feeling the former as the jobs got more homogenized.

But most of this isn't really an engine factor besides the literal built in delays they have for player actions.
