All the lovely zones in Dawntrail and when you think about it most of the story has been centered around Solution 9.

That's one of my biggest issues with the game honestly. They craft these gorgeous zones and clearly take a lot of pride in their artists for these areas but then just NEVER use them again beyond the obligatory MSQ tour or Beast Tribes.

The ending was bad and definitely went against the tone and themes VSXIII hinted at, and only kind of got into them if you looked super deeply into the lore and ignored the shitflinging babies who insisted on the surface level interpretations being the only allowed ones. This is why I liked XVI's better: it was extremely clear about its themes and in telling the aforementioned crew to fuck off (metatextually).

I didn't say the game was great. I just said it did enough to not suck. I had fun with it. I will say that it's telling that the bit that really sold me (Pitioss) was the part that intentionally had nothing to do with the rest of the game, mechanics-wise. But still.
