>>713248027 (OP)Nah, time limited content is already shit but the AI only activating when you are near is so boring. In older hitmen games the map simulation runs without you being near an npc, in numan you have to hit their triggers to get them to even activate and do stuff, it's like Skyrim where npcs wait around for you to appear to start their scripted event

I think I have WoA Standard Edition.
I bought Hitman 1 with all the content and Hitman 2 with all the content (including New York and that Haven Island).
Of course after transferring the data to WoA, I am missing New York and Haven Island.
Which DLC do I have to buy or what other fuckery I have to do to have those 2 levels in WoA?
>>713260127Being a stealth fan these days is pure fucking suffering
Stealth in games these days is nothing more than a tacked on gimmick, just so marketers can say "You can play le game your own way! xD"
No more AAA stealth games where stealth is the only way to play because the average normiefaggot retard can't fathom having to be patient, learn maps, npc patrols and routes
Thank god Hitman WoA exists

>>713260127I just wish there were more missions.
>>713258889Absolute retard
>>713260153apply applies all enabled mods
>>713260127I think itโs even great small design details that the game has that have left me spoiled. The fact that the gameโs logic is 100% internally consistent across levels and the fact that youโre never forced into an unfavourable situation that you yourself didnโt cause is liberating. To say nothing of the fact that most of the story is told through gameplay and post-mission briefings and cutscenes, and thereโs never a mid-mission cutscene unless itโs 100% necessary.
You realise how many games have bullshit setpieces and moments that clash with the gameplay, meanwhile Hitman has none of that and remains consistent from beginning to end.
>>713260729โYou can play the game your own wayโ describes Hitman too.
The scoring system encourages stealth, but thereโs nothing stopping you blasting your way to the end credits. The same is true of alot of stealth games, in fact.
>>713260542buy hitman blood money and contracts fuck that shit
>>713260441I choose to blame English because why not?
>>713261169Itโs the longest Hitman game ever made and has Freelancer and user contracts on top of that. Itโs not like the game is starved for content, even though I wouldnโt complain if they just kept putting out new maps for the game indefinitely.
The fact theyโre actually planning to add a co-op mode to the game on top of everything else is insane.
>>713261495Ludmija is actually English born, so thatโs probably where IO got the idea for her design. Sheโs basically a posh version of an English slag.
>>713248027 (OP)I like that you can disguise as a masseur in the spa area, wait for Ljudmila, and massage her tight body before snapping her neck on the table

I also like that she removes her white kind of skirt whenever she enters the spa area
>>713261429>โYou can play the game your own wayโ describes Hitman too.Difference is all the different ways you can approach levels and targets are stealthy
Going guns blazing in this game really isn't that satisfying, as it should be in any stealth game that's worth a damn
Your only "action" options are just pointing your gun and shooting, throwing a weapon at an NPC's head, or melee them with your fists or a melee weapon, but that usually leaves you quite open and you actually die really fast in this game, again, as it should be in a proper stealth game
Meanwhile, all the shit "you can play your own way" games, make action as viable as stealth, if not more, and at that point you wonder why you're even bothering with stealth at all
>>713261991So you play this game to creep on unsuspecting females?
>>713262614Among other things, yes.
>>713262415Combat is viable in Hitman as long as youโre actually smart with your movement and positioning rather than just rushing head first into things. Success in combat requires just tactical prowess and thought as stealth, which is how it should be in a stealth-action hybrid game.
Iโd also say that the combat is made somewhat satisfying by the ragdolls and environmental destruction.
>>713259885The maps aren't the issue, but the shitty AI, average controls, and many exploitable mechanics are.
>>713262614There are only two kinds of Hitman players

>>713262614Hitman is a fantasy of violence with the intention of murder. Might as well include sexual violence while we're at it. Rape and murder go hand in hand.
>>713263183The whole point of stealth games (especially ones like Hitman) is to have exploitable mechanics. Theyโre consistently exploitable by design so you can use your knowledge of the gameโs systems to solve missions.
If the AI or mechanics behaved too unpredictably, all the playerโs planning would go out the window.
>>713263273The fact that the world record speedrun time for SASOing the entire game is just under 20 minutes is a testament to how much freedom the game allows. My favourite is the current Paris WR strat where they kill both Dalia and Viktor without even leaving the starting location.

>>713264374the game its self is fine but the tone was even farther off than WoA
>latex bazooka nuns>danny trejo stars as the incredible bulk>47 crudely chopping off his barcode like he isnt a master of disguise at least they're making a bond game now which is more more in keeping with WoA's hitman versus the illuminati and coincidentally all the targets are morally reprehensible sorts, all that was missing was the car chases and explosions
>>713264489>The stereotypical accent of all NPCs there>Dawood Rangan being a sexually frustrated pajeet with the stereotypical haircut, glasses and stache>Mumbai level being overall the filthiest level in the game, there is literally one proper toilet in it and it's in Dawood Rangan's tower>The street toilets are filthy rooms with holes in the floor>The american actor roaming the streets who ate street foof and is constantly sick>If you go down the sewers area, 47 will be swarmed by flies for a good 30 seconds afterwards>You can "outsource" 2 of the targets kills to a local amateur Kashmirian Hitman>You can derail a train straight to one of the target's hideoutComedy gold level
One of the few games that benefits from DEI lol
>>713265019>coincidentally all the targets are morally reprehensible sorts,Ah yes, I remember how Hitman Contracts and Blood Money had you kill totally innocent people such as drug dealers, mobsters, rapists, pedos, human traffickers, arms dealers, murderers and so on
>>713265031Hitman kind of needs DEI since the whole premise is you travelling around the world killing all sorts of powerful and/or dangerous people.
Plus, it also fits the pro-neutrality theme of the series since it shows that 47 will kill almost anyone.

>>713248325...he said while being on /v/...
>>713271627The exploits in WoA require way more skill to pull off than in BM.
BM has a glaring oversight where being caught trespassing while in your suit doesnโt count against your score, even if youโre being shot at. It turns certain levels into a complete joke. At least in WoA, you have to have mastered things like bullet distractions to pull off some of the more absurd stuff.
>>713252013Same. Half of charm of the game is immersing yourself in the levels. Freelancer feels like the powergamer speed running version where the levels might as well be VR blocks. I enjoyed it for what it was but it's postgame meme content to me.
>go back to bm recently after playing woa
>47 moves like a geriatric fridge
it really hasn't aged well
>>713271627Still, BM is piss easy, easiest and most braindead game in the franchise by far
Disguises are godmode with no drawbacks whatsoever, your starting suit also makes it so that if your cover gets blown while wearing it, your cover won't actually be blown, because the starting suit doesn't count as a disguise
You can literally do missions SASO in Blood Money by literally running around the map in your suit while getting shot at
As long as NPCs don't stop in your way and do their hand sign, your rating will always be perfect
Not to mention how accidents are brain fucking dead, you could empty whole maps by pushing NPCs over balconies, civilians accidental deaths don't count towards your rating
WoA is objectively a much harder experience because of how huge, complex and sprawling levels are, the number of guards and NPCs, diguises being balanced out by enforcers, and stricter rules regarding accidents and civilians
Not to mention Freelancer mode, which is even harder than everything else in WoA
>>713272239>bullet distractionscomplete bullshit mechanic, even subsonic rounds would not fool the type of enemies you are up against in the white house in BM, especially not secret service
there could be creative electronic lures being required or just coins, but bullets for distractions or shooting locks open is simply breaking the 4th wall
there will never be a truly realistic HM game as it would not be fun

>>713248080>>713248027 (OP)Hereโs my argument as someone who just started the nu hitman games. But at the same time, the levels seem so massive that I canโt just play it like the older games. Whatโs your response to that? Maybe im not far in enough and acclimated? >>713273435Tbf, thatโs less of a problem now than it used to be. Itโs all under the WoA package as far as Iโm aware.
Then again, Iโve been playing the trilogy since day 1 in 2016, so IDK what the purchasing experience is like for people nowadays.
>>713273713The only innocent people heโs canonically killed in the franchise are the PI in Contracts, the mailman in Blood Money, Penelope Graves and Dino Bosco.
Everyone else was involved in some kind of crime or atrocity. 47 has always been picky about his contracts and prefers not to kill innocents. Not out of a moral code, but because he thinks hits on innocent people are too easy and beneath him.

Freelancer mode might actually be one of the peaks of stealth gaming.
I like that it makes you feel like an actual assassin taking random jobs with minimal context. The whole game does a great job feeling like an assassin sim, but Freelancer just takes it to another level.
I wish this was the direction Assassinโs Creed went in rather than becoming an open world checklist simulator.
>>713274602i love the collect-a-thon aspect but i wish they did more with the economy, barely have to spend a mercer nevermind losing money because i forgot to grab my suit before exfiltrating
>>713274602its insane they just handed it out for free. i got like 150hrs of fresh gameplay out of it. AAA DLC costs me like 40โฌ and i get 20 hrs.
>>713274937On top of releasing Freelancer mode for free, they had also released a new free level a few days prior (Ambrose Island)
This game is the gift that kept on giving for a decade
>>713275179it was made out of recycled assets mostly but i wonder how freelancer and ambrose exist. the agme doesnt have a battle passo or some system to keep generating money with engagement so im wondering if it was part of a scrapped dlc
>>713274937It probably didnโt take that much effort from a resource standpoint to basically string whatโs a series of randomly generated missions together on already existing maps, with the only new stuff being the showdown suspects and things tied to the safehouse and economy. They also have paid cosmetic packs for Freelancer on their store, so their idea was probably to monetise it that way.
>>713274858Personally, the biggest thing that annoys me in Freelancer is that you can only buy equipment from suppliers in missions. They should also give you an option to buy things from the safehouse. Just double the price of the items from safehouse purchases to keep the suppliers relevant.
I really wished the Elusive Targets weren't like time exclusive events
>>713273881Alright, if you insist
He kills Joseph Clarence and the mailman in BM
He kills the private investigator in the biker level of Contracts and the police investigator who tracked him down, in the finale of that game, his only sin was being too good at his job
In Hitman 2 he kills the innocent fat asian basement dweller twin of his real target (this isn't a deliberate act but he definitely doesn't skip a beat and just keeps on with the mission), he also murders a mans son solely so he can track the body back to him when it's to be buried, the character isn't even a target, 47 kills him just to make killing someone else easier
And in the original game he starts a gang war, doubtlessly getting numerous civilians killed in the crossfire, and then kills the chief of police when he attempts to broker a peace, just to keep the carnage going long enough to kill his target
These are not the actions of a morally centered man, but one who is dedicated to his job as a hitman? Sure. As time goes by and he becomes the best hitman in the agency naturally he can avoid having to take these kinds of jobs and can afford to be a bit more righteous in his behaviour
>>713275572that's why they made the arcade no?
how many targets is it missing these days
>>713275534New players give them money from purchasing the game. And they also have paid escalations and cosmetics.
The whole idea with the live service model is to keep the game running indefinitely as a source of passive income. Similar to what Valve do with TF2 and CS:GO.
>>713275546>It probably didnโt take that much effort from a resource standpoint to basically string whatโs a series of randomly generated missions together on already existing mapsquite bit more than that. theres the safehouse which is made with new assets afaik. it also has decently ellaborate systems with 0 existing framework to support them. i am ballparking a guess around 100k man hours easily.
>>713275572Use Peacock and you'll be able to replay all Elusive Targets ever released infinitely (and even save in them) with no stupid ass timer whatsoever
>>713275618>Joseph ClarenceGuilty of criminal negligence that cost the lives of several innocent people (including children). Is also housing gangbangers and helping them store crack.
>basement dwellerImplied pedo, since he seems to be watching CP.
>gang warNot people he killed directly, and the game doesnโt clarify wheter any civilians got in the cross fire. If anything, the only innocent life he took there was the Police Chiefโs at the restaurant sit down.
>>713275534It's true that Ambrose Island is a budget level that was 100% made from already existing assets, but they evidently did it smartly, with care and passion, because the level still feels brand new and different
It's secondary objective might also be the best in WoA, because you can disable/destroy the satellite uplink in a lot of different ways
>>713275893if my ballpark guess is even in the correct (assuming a skeleton crew of 20 people made the game in 6 months) then that'd still mean they have to sell 300k cosmetics roughly to offset thatand im just assuming one cosmetic is 10 dollars and software engineer's pay is 30 /hr. valve isnt remotely comparable to IOI they have essentially created their own ecosystem with their loot crates people want because they have monetary value. there wont be much demand for cosmetics in some add-on gameplay mode released for a 5 year old game. unless they made those maps and freelancer a lot cheaper than i assume then they have to be scrapped dlc.
I remember when these shitty nu-Hitman games came out and it took /v/ 5-6 months to come to the conclusion that they are stealth games for people who hate stealth games. And the comeback is always "oh em gee, turn the assists off!" The game is still very linear and disguise heavy, there are so many guards that you are forced into a disguise or scripted fancy kill.
Whereas in the older games the maps had more entry points, PLENTY of ways to move in while still wearing your iconic agent 47 suit, no disguise, and just murdering a bitch with a silenced weapon. Now it's like "Agent 47 meet flamboyant artist Alexandra Drucasso who will show you the way to the gallery where you can kill the target in the exact spot using this poison that we gave you!!!!!!"
It's my favorite stealth game ever
I wish they'll eventually come around and release one or two new levels
I would be willing to shell out 60 bucks for two levels, that's how much I love that game
Considering the game is still supported and still has new content being released, there might still be hope
>>713276919>forced Git gud. People have finished these missions SASO in seconds without doing any of the mission stories because the game gives you that much freedom.

>>713276919The only level that's hard to suit only is Colorado because everywhere is hostile territory. And still, it's not the most difficult to SASO.
>>713248027 (OP)>gaasI do have an hitman itch, but then i open its steam page and it goes away
>>713277313>The only level that's hard to suit only is>And still, it's not the most difficult to SASO.huh?
>>713277224>Why are you describing Hitman WoA?I played the first one, all whopping six maps that it came with. If the second game got better that's great, I won't care to buy it till it's like $10
>>713277431Oh okay you are talking out of your ass, as I thought, thanks for clarifying that
>>713277313>it's not the most difficultItโd disagree with this. Itโs the most difficult SASO in the game by far. Only Bangkok comes close to rivalling it in this respect. Colorado SASO basically just forces you to play the game like an MGS game with no blending opportunities.
>>713254318>his wife doesn't allow him toDoes she allow him to watch when she fuck niggers tho? lmao
>>713276919oh look it's the resident baiting retard giving free bumps! everyone say hello to it.
>>713277404Itโs honestly one of the only games that actually benefits from the GaaS model. The always online is a pain, but actually having a consistent stream of content fits the whole assassin fantasy of doing jobs as they come up.
>>713277485You are an actual fanboy faggot shill FUCK who doesn't know what they are talking about. Hitman 2016 has six shitty levels and you faggots were GUSHING about Sapienza when the game first came out.
>omg Sapienza, you can play it so many ways!!!
The hardest part in Colorado, is actually making your way to the farm house
The woman target with the arm prosthesis can be killed on your way there, by just dropping the hay bale on her ass
Then once you finally get to the house, you can catch all 3 remaining targets in the house, sean rose and graves in the house hall, and the mossad nigger in the basement
>>713277731it had one level when it came out and the backlash was YUGE
>>713277731>ou are an actual fanboy faggot shill FUCK who doesn't know what they are talking about.I have close to 2000 hours on Hitman World of Ass
I'm pretty I know what I'm talking about
>>713277749Colorado SASO I meant
>>713277749The problem is actually getting to the house, since you have to either go right up the middle of the map or go around and pass heavily guarded checkpoints along the way. Then thereโs the fact that house itself and its surrounding gardens have tons of guards just roaming around.
Is there any cool / useful use for explosive items? Like the ducks, C4, nitroglycerin, etc
So many of them but they seem so useless since they ruin SA. I never got to try the Molotov before they nerfed it to death either
I guess one thing you could do would be to place an explosive in an empty area, detonate it and have some guards leave their posts to look out for the noise
>>713278043It's do-able, that's how I did it in Master difficulty anyways
But yeah, still definitely the hardest challenge in this game
It was even worse in Hitman season 1 because at that point there was no foliage you could hide in, not to mention the awful head turning
>>713277821There was backlash because Absolution reduced peopleโs faith in the IP, so launching with 1 level wasnโt a good look.
Itโs only after people realised that 1 level = easily 20-30 hours of content that people changed their tune.
>>713278164Explosions make good distractions since they panic civilians and make guards leave their posts to investigate. The panicked civilians thing is especially important because panicked civilians wonโt notice you trespassing unless youโre carrying an illegal item.
>>713278164>Remote explosive ducksWhat I like to do is putting down a duck somewhere in the path of a NPC/target
That NPC/target will then pick it up completely oblivious that I will detonate it later once they encounter another target
Messy way to kill, but really cool and fun being able to plant explosives on people like that
>>713278164Explosives really shine in freelancer. The brick of SEMTEX in a briefcase is my favorite when you really need to guarantee a collateral kill. Just don't mix up remote with proximity.
>>713278653I have never found a non-gimmicky use for proximity explosives, to the point where I question why theyโre even in the game. Iโll always pick a remote explosive or grenade over proximity any day.
>>713278961If remote detonators had a much shorter range, I could see prox having a use case when you want to be far away from the guards when the explosion happens.
>>713279287The problem with that is that would be very annoying. It was already annoying in Blood Money when you had to unlock the detonator upgrade before you could detonate explosives over long distances, so imagine how much more frustrating that would be in WoAโs maps which are about 3-4x the size of the average BM map.
>>713278961probably a relic from an early build or they are there for casual players who finish every mission by killing every guard in their way. ive used the proxy fart gas a few times to get easy SA
>>713279839Emetic gas is remote though, but yeah, when coupled with the briefcase, itโs the most broken tool in the game. Emetic briefcase -> kill in the bathroom is my go-to strategy for all ETs.
>>713254670i beat hitman and haven't played since freelancer came out
should i use this mod before touching freelancer or try it "vanilla" first?

>DUUUUH I JUST BOUGHTED WOA PART ONE, WHY DON'T I HAVE PART 2 AND 3 WITH IT DUUUUH>WTF WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO GET THE MOST EXPENSIVE EDITION OF THE GAME TO GET ALL ITS CONTENT???
>>713280398Up to you. It only adds more variety.
If you don't know ALL the maps and their variations by heart then it might not be for you though.
>>713281253it was pretty eye opening to be around for hitman 3's launch on steam when all the retards finally got their chance to play the game since it was an epic exclusive and during the time people played it on epic, zero issues. as soon as the steamie masses got the game the crying ensued.
>>713281242Dude fuck off with your hindophobia. If you had the slightest, slightest bit of intelligence you would know what to buy without a problem

When i finally bought the game i took one quick look at it and bought the right one.
>>713281135That's it?
That the supposedly "overconvoluted" buying scheme I've been hearing about for years?
Are you faggots mentally impaired or something?
>>713281907I used to by WAY more complicated before it all became merged as one game. It used to be that you had to either buy the game as a whole, in which case, you got all levels free, buy each level individually, or buy packs that gave you access to some levels, but not all levels.
Itโs been simplified a lot since 2016.
>>713282329Okay, then why do I see retards whining about it in this very thread?
>>713282417Because most "people" on /v/ are mouth breathing turd worlders
>>713282417Because the stigma and belief that it was convoluted never fully went away. Also, it is kind of silly that New York and Haven Island arenโt included in the standard edition because they do have SOME story relevant content, however small.
>it is okay that they used to be stealing jews but they are kind of less now so please please please stop complaining about them being devious in the past okay, they are totally different now
>>713282329its never been difficult to buy the correct version as long as you have IQ of someone who finished high school
>pre 2018you bought individual eps or you bought the full version.
>post 2018you bought hitman 2 or the full version of hitman 1 or the edition with both

>>713252996Yup, seeing how they tried to package and rerelease the new Hitman games, with a (then) lackluster, barebones amount of levels with fake replay value added through "roguelike" missions turned me off of the new games completely. I've never been able to get into them at all, and no, I don't care that the game is now "huge" just because they packaged all the games together and want people to buy them again.
Silent Assassin and Contracts are still peak and I'll stand by that. I didn't even mind Absolution compared to the new games because it was at least a fully packaged game with a story behind it, as much as it was linear and campy.
>no WoA is great! just buy the super ultra deluxe edition and you'll have all the content!Fucking reeks of a shill campaign. I'll torrent it if I feel so inclined to "try" it again.

I really wouldn't mind if IO made a short film or a movie about Hitman. Those guys can make some great stuff, not like the current Hitman films
>>713286491The only way to make a good Hitman movie is to make a slasher movie where 47 is the slasher. Have the tension be in how 47 is going to kill these corrupt and unlikeable characters.
>>713284968Look I'm just an artist all right, why don't you go kill some real bad guys.
Please man, SAY SOMETHING...
>>713286665Yeah, they don't even need to go crazy with the plot, just have good direction and understand what makes Hitman special. It's one of the few videogame concepts that could be easily adapted into a movie and yet they manage to screw it up
>>713248325I'm unsure how to describe it but the new era HITMAN games feel like a flanderization of the series where there's too much emphasis put into following dumb routes to victory with funny costumes and silly scenarios
Silent Assassin for me is the best in terms of tone, gameplay, story
>>713286954Itโs because they keep trying to make it into an action movie when in reality the series would be better to make it into a slow-burn thriller.
>>713287157>too much emphasis put into following dumb routes to victory with funny costumes and silly scenariosRetard
>>713287157i prefer contracts since it is edgy (as in, the actual original meaning of the term)
>>713284223Nah, I didn't fuck it up. Turns out there was a time period before freelancer mode was released when Haven Island and New York were transferred to WoA. But once IOI released freelancer mode, they also released "Hitman 3 access: Hitman 2 Deluxe" which contains those 2 maps and removed the possibility to transfer them from original save file.

>>713293296do you bother to bring a garrot on missions? if so which one
>>713291432The opposite is true. The maps are designed without it in mind, and itโs just tacked on at the last minute.
I just thought about what I would like to see in a Hitman movie while I was taking a shower and I want to share my take:
>47 is sent on a mission, kill a target and retrieve a card / chip carried by that same target
>He arrives on some location, we get a small presentation of the target
>Throughout the movie we see snipets of 47 doing sneaking his way around the location. It's all very vague, we just know 47 is wandering around and getting disguised
>We see scenes of some caracters at the location talking and giving more context about the target, his job and the type of person he is while 47 does his job, just like in the games
>One of the characters is a guard on contact with the target by using an earpiece. The target knows 47 or someone is coming to kill him from the beginning
>The movie plays like the trailers, with some music and cool sequences of 47 and people slowly disappearing
>The target knows there's something wrong as people start to disappear and fall out of contact
>47 ends up killing the target, it's all very quick with no dialogue
>Guards arrive, see the target dead at the scene but the chip is still there. It is revealed that the target was a decoy and the chip was a locator to try to fool and capture 47
>Most of the guards leave except one, the actual target who was undercover trying to kill 47. He looks at the scene and the chip wondering what happened and why he didn't fall for it
>47 slowly comes from behind disguised as one of the guards and kills him
>Movie ends
That's my autistic interpretation of a Hitman movie. I thought about it pretty quickly but I thought it could be pretty cool. You can make so many cool things with the concept
>>713293550I rarely do, a lethal poison syringe usually does the job better unless you need to kill multiple targets. It feels good to kill with the garrot though, at least if you like to get into the character of 47 and roleplay a bit
>>713294290Killing with the fiber wire is never not satisfying
Clean, efficient, just like 47
Plus it lets you drag the body immediately afterwards by the neck, which can be really helpful in some tight situations
>>713294459Its usefulness is very situational though. Sure, itโs the quietest and quickest melee kill in the game, but it only works from behind, making it riskier. Thereโs very little reason to pick it over a knife, since a knife has more utility.
>>713294652>quietest and quickest melee kill in the gameweird that nobody hears them flailing around to be fair
garrote should get buffed for hitman 4, its just used for mastery challenges basically
maybe a dual takedown or something
>>713296781even if it was just always equipped like the camera it'd see more use
it's just not worth bringing instead of other tools with so few loadout slots
>>713296781>>713297612They should remove choking and make it a default equipment. This would both both the fibre wire and sedative syringe.
>>713272554This is how it felt to me too. But then I'm not much for replaying stuff, so the idea of turning off all the hints felt like I was going to miss out on the cool stuff on the map unless I played it many times.
In retrospect that was a bad call though, I absolutely recommend you to turn off all the indicators that shows you where questlines start and all that. And then even if you miss some stuff if you just play the map once, it will still be a better experience, since it will have felt earned like in the older entries.
