I don't know why OG fags cling on to their nostalgia so tightly.
The Remake is better in every single way

It has less sex appeal

The action makes a little more sense in the original (why does this have 2make's reticle focus mechanic?) and the pacing's a little more diligent, like the remake both rushes and meanders more often. That said, the remake both gets rid of the QTEs (and fixes the Krauser fight in the process) and has more exploratory elements to bring it just a little closer to grassroots RE. I'd say they're about even, with my preference leaning towards the remake because fuck QTEs.

It's not even like those situations where a remake / remaster comes out and the original game is removed from digital storefronts, no you can still buy the original game on virtually every storefront on both consoles and PC at a low price and experience it if you want.

I have never seen anyone who argue the OG RE4 is better that isn’t using their boomer age as some sort of condescending prop to look down on other people because having aged or (being OG as they like to claim, to everyone else’s chuckle) is all they have at this point

The RE4 Remake is absolutely and objectively the superior game judging by the standards of 2025. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. And I say this as someone who grew up playing RE4 on the Wii, which is renowned for being the best port of the original

Try on anything higher than standard.
The parry also doesn't work on anything other than blade attacks.
If anything OG with it's 100% stagger headshots and kneeshots into context attack are a bigger crutch.

They went out of their way to depower the melee prompts because of how easy it was to spam that shit in the original. Plus the only way to make parry a lolwinbutton is to find all hidden items, and then buy the original, then you fully upgrade it for a a few hundred thousand pesetas.

It's not an "lolwinbutton" and it barely helps when enemies are way more aggressive than in OG, crowd control is MUCH harder (to the point you're expected to run away multiple times from a fight) and iframes have been removed from most animations. Hardcore in Remake is harder than OG professional
