I think the problem is that the switch 2 seems to be a massive success in sushi- and burgerland and not anywhere else. Those two countries probably account for 80% of the sales. So if you live in either of those you feel like it's the hottest shit ever while in other countries amazon has them readily available and lists them not even under "game consoles" so they can pretend to be the #1 seller.

The OLED has a better screen and much better battery life.

Nowadays there is very little reason to get a new console unless it immediately gets jailbroken so you can use it the way you want. If you want your fix for Nintendo content the Wii U is a much better value proposition. If you put Aroma on it, it supports (with a few exceptions) the entire Gamecube and Wii library without emulation.

Unless you really want to use the Switch 2 as a Mario Kart World machine, and are willing to drop the 500 buck premium for it to experience it right now, there just isn't much of a point.

Not really. Of the 3.5 million, the US was only about 1 million (1.1 I think). That seems good but the US usually makes up 40-50 percent of total sales, so it's not selling that great. Also, despite what Tendies claim, think, have you heard anyone bitching about not being able to get one? This has happened for Nintendo's other successful consoles but not really here. Third party games doing poorly and amiibos being shelf warmers are probably not good signs.

Most likely, Switch 2 is going to be a lot like the 3DS. Does well in Japan but struggles elsewhere. Sales numbers will still be 70-80 million but Nintendo is going to struggle to sell the thing throughout its life.
