Like genuinely curious I don't see much issue with the content we are getting and I think it's about the best content in the mmo market jobs are generally fun compared to wows different versions and the content feels more thought out compared to wows which is often lacking.

That said I am not some mmo raider or whatever. But I enjoy the battle content that exists.

Anyway I am just curious coz to me dawn trail content related to non storyhas been a step up from endwalker.

Storywise xiv is still miles ahead of wow as Imo it utilizes characters and can let new characters like sfeeen take center and hold on their own wows story quality hasn't changed much (why does alleria care about a destroyed planet all of a sudden?) anyway I will hold back my criticism of that game... If 9.0 is the final expac, I'll still play every now and again, but I'll probably cancel my sub and return when there's content updates. I don't think it's worth it, the MSQ is incredibly dull and while it does have good moments it heavily padded with extremely low-effort quests and talking-head cutscenes. Also the social experience in this game is horrible, no one talks during duties (except maybe Alliance Raid), you'd have to hang out in the capital cities if you wanted to socialise and I imagine that's a lot more difficult on a free trial account thanks to Chinese gold sellers and the restrictions they implemented to chatting/joining parties. That said, it's free so if you have nothing better to do you could just try it out.

dungeons you can do with trusts (aka npcs), and like the first 3 trials and 4 trials way later in the game, but for the most part, you have to do trials with actual people (7 other people)
and there's also one mandatory alliance raid series (23 other people) to progress

trials = basically a singular boss fight. most of these have to be done with people, a small handful can be done with npcs, with 7 other people
normal raids = what you expect from mmo raid bosses, with 7 other people. can't be done with npcs.

deep dungeon = mode where you travel up/down a building in floors and every floor has a randomized layout and enemies. you find special items while going through it that help you

Yoshida has utterly failed. FF16 sold only 3.6 million copies, record lows for the series.

He crawled back to the FF14 team which then his new DLC expansions have also flopped and received much criticism. The Yoshida cultists have become radio silent because of the embarrassment and shame. It’s over.
