The main issue is comparing the Switch 2 screen to a dedicated monitor. It completely side steps the issue concerning watt usage. Specifically the fact your monitor will have access to a constant source of power meant specifically to power the display. While your Switch 2 screen is "fighting" with every component of the Switch 2 system over a limited source. This in turns kneecaps your brightness and refresh rate.

So even if by chance your Monitor is consuming 25watts of power like the Switch 2. The way how it's designed to consume said watts is different.

I don't know if the response time is as big of a deal, at least to me since I will only play Nintendo games on this that I can't emulate. I just did a test by eye and the Switch 2's built in screen definitely has a worse response time than my $50 Chinese off brand portable monitor, it's the worst screen I own but thankfully it's not my only screen, I have some OLED displays that I use and it looks fine considering how low the resolution is on the Switch 2 games.
