Gameplay is basically a management sim with rng elements and horse girl plot, The races just have you take the trainer role. Aka you sit back and hope for the best (surprisingly thrilling sometimes). If you want to get heavily into it then it will become p2w quite quickly, if you just wanna chill out on career mode though you're kinda sorta fine? It's a big time sink though. You might be happier with a Mihoyo-like or the recently released Persona gacha if you want something more hands-on.

It's princess maker (or slay the princess might be more modern) you pick your horses schedule and try to raise her various stats for the races without injuring her, in between you get little VN event scenes that you can make decisions in that give you different stats, the different scenes are decided partially by your scenario and horse and partially by a deck of support cards you build (the support cards also have different stat effects they give you), which is the gacha portion, the horses themselves aren't that rare so you can pretty much guarantee getting the girl you want there's a lot of tickets in this game for sparking but what you roll on is the support cards since they can massively increase your stats

This also means that if for some reason you're grinding the meta your runes will be 99% the same once you get the optimal deck set up, however I think this is one of the best games to play just casually for waifuing because you can change your cards out for your favorite girls and essentially have a very remixable unique vn each time

There is a stamina system but it won't suddenly cvck your progression, you'll shell out some of your stamina to start a career run but then you can run all the way to the end of it without it bothering you again. There's no 'sorry if you want to play the next race, go sit down for a few hours'. I'd recommend downloading it, playing for an hour, and if you don't give a shit just delete it.

It's a gacha most of the players are mentally ill gambling addicts, there is zero reason to grind for the meta unless you want to for some reason, the game is single player being good at it does nothing for you (there is a pvp element but its just pick a saved team and click see results and get a small amount of currency for winning or losing you don't even have to watch the race for it so you can do the daily 5 matches in under a minute) you can complete career mode with sub-optimal cards on a sub-optimal horse though it will probably take longer than on a meta build obviously

Jap ver is 4 year ahead in content and also have full auto mode lol. Support cards are power creep like every half a year when they introduce new campaign modes(there are eleven now).
The pvp mode is just lumping you with 3 random players to race for 1st place. So there will always be multiple winners within a group of 3.
There is a monthly ranking reward system for guild/clan/circle whatever it's called in global where you farm 'fans'(it's like gbf gw honors). The amount of fans gained and time taken to complete a camping mode is more or less fixed. How good your support cards/horse are irrelevant here. It's more of how much time you can commit to farm fans which can be done even with trash support cards.
No one will one to redo this.
