correction, what you are experiencing is modern AAA fatigue. to confirm that, go play any old game from 20 years ago and see if you get bored within minutes of playing it.

I've been reading some cultivation stuff on wuxiaworld, its good for turning off your brain and enjoying the ride.
If youre interested i suggest trying out A warlock in a magus world or a will eternal first. The first one is a bit dark and edgy and the latter is pretty funny.

This. I feel like I've felt a perpetual gamer fatigue since I got skyrim and immediately hated it. Since then games have been watered down and enshittificated. The only reason I still play games is because my mate got me into Dark Souls in 2013. But that luster wore off, they ruined invasions more and more with each game for the wider audience and DaS3 + Elden Ring were underwhelming. Now the only thing that keeps me playing games is my friend group.

>gaming fatigue
You need to take literature seriously (I mean actual lit - challenging stuff). Then game a bit on the side.

You feel fatigued because your mind is crying out for higher culture and learning. Games are fun, but they aren't that.

Just play older vidya anon-kun, it's going to take a culture shift to unfuck the state of modern videogames and that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Alternatively, you could try making your own vidya, be the change you wanna see. Your game will never have the same level of technical quality compared to professional games but it'll be better than the alternative, everything 2015 onwards has had an aura of detestability or hostility to it

I got other hobbies.
I found out i really liked cars, so I bought a z32 na manual and have been having fun getting that back on the road. Going to swap fuel injectors and do valve cover gaskets soon. I did the fuel pump in it and fixed the fuel sender unit.
I do warhammer stuff sometimes, cooking, film. I make art.
I love driving and go up a mountain route near my house and do that every weekend.
I have enough fun to unwind.
Long story short, don't put all your eggs in one basket, and have many hobbies and projects. Gaymen is a shit hobby at the moment, and I just play old stuff. I used to love waiting for e3 announcements, reading gaming magazines for xbox, etc. Now, it's just shit. Unironically, its just dog shit.

Fix your life.
I had a "gaming" fatigue when I was depressed, but in reality, I have a fatigue in life, not games.
With so many new games being released every single day, there's no way you will be fatigue of them all.

Not really fatigue per se, but I've definitely changed the way I approach and enjoy games.

Used to be all about playing and beating tons of games. Always picking up the latest new releases and playing them then moving on to something else.
Now I just can't be assed with that shit, its exhausting. I like having a handful 'forever games' that I can boot up any time and enjoy. I'm much more stingy about buying new releases, especially with single player games. But if something catches my eye I'll still throw it on a wishlist and pick it up down the line when its discounted. The only games I like to buy new anymore are multiplayer games where most of the value/appeal is in playing with other people when the community is at its height during launch.

I appreciate the games I do play so much more now.
I still eventually get to enjoy all the single player ones I would have anyways for less than half the price. And there's so many middling games I skip completely now instead of blowing $60 for a weekend of play.
I am just smarter with my money than I used to be in general.

i just rewatched this entire show including the comeback ending, it's underrated kino, really good pacing for the first like half of the show, the filler gets kind of obnoxious toward the end, and the return ending feels really out of place with the voice acting being so noticably different, but it's good overall
it's a shame inuyasha never got a good game

Entirely depends on what you enjoy, but if you're into video games your whole life then i imagine you are into fantasy and have seen Lord of the Rings and perhaps never read them, and in that case i recommend you do since the books are much better than the movies (and i love the movies)

Otherwise try reading something that gives you a different perspective on life, lately i've been reading Crime and punishment and i'm enjoying it a lot

30s are almost over for me, it was a good decade with 8 good games. The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Overwatch, Stardew Valley, Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3, Helldivers 2 and this year Clair Obscur. Wanted Diablo 4 and Starfield to be good too, but sadly, will have to wait and hope for next Diablo and next Elder Scrolls. And now, when kids spend most of their time at college dorms and are almost ready to leave the house (tick tock, graduation next year, time to pack and leave mommy's nest for good), I have a lot of time to play, high hopes for 40s.

Everyone elseโ€”old friends, familyโ€”are married and busy with their own lives. Iโ€™m the only one who chose to stay single. Iโ€™m not a virgin, but when I dated in my 20s, I never really felt any genuine interest in women.

Literally nothing is giving me joy or satisfaction anymore. Getting a gf and then being dumped destroyed me. Everything feels meaningless now that I don't have anyone to share anything with (I dont have any friends either). I used to be able to pick up different hobbies or exercise and just enjoy the self-improvement and skills/knowledge I gained from it. Nothing's doing it for me anymore. Keeping up those things without feeling some kind of satisfaction from it is absolutely impossible. My best days are the ones I'm working overtime so that I don't even have time to think about life. Weekends are consistently a nightmare to get through. I don't know what the fuck to do about myself.

Rumiko stated herself she basically pulled no punches for ranma (and yatsura before it) but with the ending arc she wanted to do more fantasy stuff and less erotic\comedy. You can see the strech in the first inu arc which was the lewder of the series (see yuria and one of the only four bath scenes in the entirety of the series). She basically wanted to turn a page.

The fact rumiko went for a preggo ending for both of the brothers girls isn't something you can show today and a rare ending overall in general.
Kagome dropped school to live in sengoku era and be a mom\priestess full time.
Rin was pregnant twice at kagome's series beginning age i think? The guy did not wasted a single second after fullfilled his revenge checklist.
That was simply awesome.

yes nigger, I know that, which is why the way she was before her death is irrelevant. by the time you are even introduced to inuyasha that shit is old news, 50 goddamn years have gone by, you only know the "former" kikyo through flashbacks, and the present day zombified kikyo still has the same consciousness and sensibilities as her former self, and on top of that she KNOWS that you were both set up, so there's no reason for her to keep playing the catty bitch when a nigga is just trying to help. hence she is a psycho. hence it implies that she was likely a psycho before she died as well. god damn son pull your head out of your ass.

she's a heart broken zombie. basically she was gonna give up her job as protector of the sacred jewel to be with inuyasha, but naraku was privy to this and he used his newly acquired demonic power to turn them against each other, partly because he was a jealous bitch (she tended his wounds while he was bedridden and he fell in love with her) and partly because he wanted the shikon jewel for himself so he come become a greater demon.

I mean, for the depicted era, that's not do unreasonable. Either way, based. Just a shame that yashahime had so much potential, but seemed to lack most, if not all the things that made inuyasha cool/ endearing, without having much of its own personality. Like, as if it's intended audience was completely different from the original series. Also, moroha is the cutest and coolest of the 3, but gets limited screentime because she's not the lead heroine

This is why i don't really like the kids spinoff unless is something COMPLETELY different. Same story, but kids, is always boring. Also inuyasha is a very long story.
They should have gone for a slice of life \ adventure like ranma final arc but no full adventure again. Splice with another genre at least.

I don't want you to feel this way. It's not about what you could offer the world, it's about what you could offer yourself. It's okay that you live to preserve your own self, but you can plan to expand your reach eventually.

If you have family or friends, I discovered that it's important to spend time with them even if you may not like your family so much (for example).

It took me too long in life to realize I was wasting my time. I wish I used the time I spent playing video games to do anything healthy instead. A bit of video gaming is of course harmless, but in the end it's your choice. I just don't want you to end up like me anon. I'm sure you're younger than me and I wish I had someone trying to reason with me back in the day. Don't be depressed or too harsh on yourself.

Absolutely not. People who take selfies and live a life of narcissism on social media was wasting their time just as tragically. It ends up being a life of emptiness in which you ignore the things that truly matter. It's like people who go to a concert and spent the whole concert recording it on their phone. Like wtf?

They're not 'really' there at all. It was a precious experience and they wasted it.

She honestly kinda did it to herself. Once they killed the hag that resurrected her (like 8th episode of the first season something like that) she could have killed herself. She already knew kagome was her reincarnation so why even bother to keep suffering? Just the presence of kagome should have given her a go for killing herself. Yeah ok she wanted a piece of naraku but whatever i mean.

I can see where you're coming from. I'm sorry you're forced to work this hard. It's unfair. I can relate to you saying you used video games to soothe pain, it's a very effective way to do so. All I'd recommend is to make sure you don't spend too much time in them, especially if you know you have an opportunity to spend that time with family and friends, even if it's only for a few minutes. I don't want you to end up like me regretting this and that.

>>713981991
I don't think being productive at all times is actual a good thing. I just feel bad when I see other anons sinking so much time in vidya because this is what I did when I was younger and my only big reward at the end of it all was an irreversible time loss and regret. I want better for people, not worse. I'm not one of those 'spend more time at work instead of vidya!' people, I'm someone who's saying spend that time better and don't sink it all into video games.

no, because they've achieved something that matters deeply to them
much in the same way i've played thousands of videogames and i'm very happy with the fact that i know so many obscure games, what games inspired what, etc., etc., because it matters to me

almost 30 here. I'm thinking on looking for another hobby since gaming is dead to me. There's no point on buying a console or a better PC just for 1 or 2 new games that are actually worth it, and playing older games is what I have been doing and I feel that I already played too much games to think I'm missing anything at all.
On a personal level, I want to feel love again but I think I missed the train, I believe I have to change because no one cares or will care if I don't put in the effort. I work remotely, going to the gym + swimming, improving my speech with a speech therapyst (I have speech problems since childhood), and thinking of getting braces for my teeth. But that the same time, I think all of this is pointless. Single women around my age are either single mothers, or broken people like me, any of them would torment my life, and I'm speaking from friends/close family experience. The days of finding a good girl to settle up are over for me and I never knew it, so I don't know what to do if I reach let's say my 40s and still being single. I have been thinking this a lot.

the real redpill is that 95% of all games have always been shit, and when it comes to modern games you're experiencing them in real time so naturally you're going to be eating some of that shit, while old games we can look at with hindsight and know ahead of time what's good/bad
if you actually play through a console's library, you'll see that the vast majority of games are just complete unplayable trash, if anything the average modern game is pretty decent in comparison

>All the different storefronts are giving away games or have really good sales (at least for PC) so there's always new options even on a tight budget
>Still need to play Resident Evil 2 Remake, DOOM Eternal, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Death Stranding Director's Cut, Subnautica, etc.
>Also exercise, work on various projects, try new hobbies (just got a basketball and some new dumb bells), got a library card and a couple books, etc.
Combine that with the internet and other activities/hobbies, as long as you don't do too much of one specific thing and keep things varied and interesting, it's hard to get fatigued. Just don't overdo it. Take a break if you feel like taking a break, don't force yourself.

I have a life, anon. I've never played a entire system's library to completion, but that is a unrealistically high bar for most who grew up gaming. You don't have to be kicked in the balls to know it's a bad time, and over the years I played enough to develop a sense of what I like, but also tell the difference between more or less genuinely good and bad games, and those made solely for non-gamers/ casuals, and every nuance in between.
I only got into Playstation between PS2 and PS4, but know the value of what PS1 had to offer
Wii was a cashgrab system, Wii U was in some ways a return to form, only to go full blown casual switch onward, catching up in that regard to Sony and Microsoft that shifted from pro consumer to pro shareholders mid PS3/360

Well OP, you might try new genres.
I'm 35 and from time to time I COMPLETELY change my tastes in genre, I spend like 3 months obsessing over racing games, then I can't stand them anymore and start playing Tactics/4X/grand strategy for a few months, then go to management games, then plataformers until the whole circle repeats itself.

I like the story, love the visuals and characters, but the gameplay and exploration are dogshit and im really struggling to continue in act 3. Which in turn makes it so i barely played anything for the last month, since i usually only play one game until i beat it and move on to the next one.

i never said you had to, but when the point i made is that the majority of games have always been bad, and you're saying the rate of bad games now is higher than ever before, you not having a reference for the rate from before makes your stance somehwat of a moot point
like you can't tell me out of doom 4/eternal/dark ages, thps1+2, death stranding 1/2, re2/3/4makes & re7/8, mhw/rise/wilds, dragon's dogma 2, bloodborne/das3/sekiro/elden ring/nightreign, all last 10 CoDs, battlefield 1, red dead 2, etc., etc., etc. there wasn't a single AAA game you've liked from the last 10 years, even if a decent amount of them you didn't enjoy, it's insane to say the quality of them as products is significantly worse than the quality of the average game from the 90s to 2010s, like shit 2006-2010 was easily the worst era of games (outside of the 80s/90s where the average game was genuinely unplayable shovelware and aren't even worth discussing) in my imo opinion

>like you can't tell me out of doom 4/eternal/dark ages, thps1+2, death stranding 1/2, re2/3/4makes & re7/8, mhw/rise/wilds, dragon's dogma 2, bloodborne/das3/sekiro/elden ring/nightreign, all last 10 CoDs, battlefield 1, red dead 2, etc., etc., etc. there wasn't a single AAA game you've liked from the last 10 years
I can say with confidence that I don't care for movie games, which nullifies most of your examples, the only fps's I cared for were goldeneye, halo 2+3, and borderlands 1+2. thps1+2 had fucked up physics compared to the originals, so I couldn't enjoy that. Everything else you mentioned never rallied my interest enough to justify even trying, and I've avidly followed gaming since my first Nintendo Powers, and EGMs. It's all subjective to an extent. We're entitled to our own opinions on the matter, but you can't deny that there was at least passion, knowledge, and skill in the game development sphere up until Wii/mid PS3 and mid 360. There absolutely was a shift in the culture and how the industry conducted itself

>slop
If you think it's slop, then you simply think anime in general is all slop-- so why are you watching? Anime, particularly shonen, is and always was cartoon for Japanese kids. If you go about analyzing it any higher or deeper than it's intended audience, that's an autistic (You) problem.

I grew out of anime when I was in middle school cause I thought it was childish and gay, but I picked it back up in college because it's actually enjoyable when you accept it as childish and gay, and don't penalize it for being such

Also you're a faggot for throwing shade on Yuyu

Yeah, after bleach and dragonball z ended, I was burned out on shonen. These days I find myself enjoying slice of life and romcoms (the back and forth between silly and honest human interactions, without nothing retardedly epic on the line is my speed these days)

I finished this series about a month ago and feel so empty without it. I started watching Cat's Eye and its decent, but its just not the same - its truly one of the greatest Manime out there, along with Space Cobra and a few others

I just finished a "mathematically correct" playthrough of DS as all ten classes, back to back to back, took a break to replay DSII to see if it's the misunderstood gem that DSIIfags insist it is (final verdict: it absolutely isn't), and so now I'm moving on to playing every class in III. I love video games.

I don't have gaming fatigue, I have life fatigue and that makes it hard to play games.

I wish I could just take a year off life and play games every day.

I know but when the entire media has nothing to offer but childish stuff, it becomes a travesty. The potential for anime to be pure works of art is now buried under all the commercial drivel, just like videogames, all due to human greed.
