Is it "buy a PS5" good?
I have this 30th anniversary edition eyed on ebay for 500, but there really aren't any other PS5 games I couldn't also play on PC.
At least none I know of.
Death Stranding I was probably my favorite game of that year.
if you can tolerate truck sim you'll love it
>>714101343 (OP)I watched some streams on it and I'd say it's just more of the same, so I'd say no, but maybe toward end game it starts getting significantly better (I doubt it)
>>714101542I mean, that's what I am looking for, but for 520+80 dollar game that's a hard fucking sell. And then for the DS remake it's another 80. I'd have to play like ten games on PS5 to make this purchase worth it. Does the PS5 even have 10 games that are good?
>>714101343 (OP)If you liked 1 you'll love 2, if 1 was meh, then 2 is a bit better, but not enough to justify buying a ps5
>>714101818FUCK that looks amazing. I would love a hundred hours of that.
>>714101818Nobody does this, you get vehicles within the first half an hour
>>714101959vehicles are even more mind numbing
>>714101343 (OP)No
Wait for it to come to steam
DS Remake, Ghosts of Yotei, DS2, MH:W not running like absolute crap
>>714101818Loved DS1 and played about 300+ hours of it between 4 different playthroughs so I'm very much looking forward to more of this.
That being said I'm just going to wait for the superior PC version like I did the first time around
>>714102069Nine months tho? And then my PC's probably going to be below minimum specs.
I dunno I think I am just going to get drunk tonight and then look whether I feel some power compelling me to buy it.
Its the first game except the challenge of the terrain is less interesting (more flat, less chances to use structures in creative ways to cross unexpected obstacles) but the stealth elements are more interesting (sneaking into hostile camps to recover packages is actually fun and interesting in this one)
Also since the world isn't really as mysterious anymore since we know everything from the first game it does lose a lot of the spooky atmosphere in my opinion.
Its probably worth playing if you liked the first one but I wouldn't buy a whole system over it.
>>714101818I wish more third person games did stuff like that with the camera
>>714102546Next you'll say ziplines exist to skip the driving
And then you'll say it's possible to just skip the game entirely and go to the next mini movie hollywank exposition dump
>>714102406>>714102769I'm more of a purist tbhh. I walk everywhere or take the bike. For really heavy loads I might take the truck, but sometimes I just like walking and the challenge of walking very far with a heavy load.
After all, who wouldn't want to skip straight to this?
This nigga lookin' ZESTY, this nigga lookin' MOIST, he's got sugar in his tank, he's light on his feet, he's a lil bit fruity, he plays for the other team, he dances at the other end of the ballroom, this nigga theatrical, this nigga good with colors, this nigga gonna coordinate yo curtains wit you cushions and that shit gonna look good! This nigga lifts shirts, this nigga on the down low, this nigga be a tollet trader, this nigga gardens uphill, this nigga packs fudge, he's a friend of Dorothy, he feels the love that dare not speak Its name, he loves to dance, he's of the Uranian brotherhood, he indulges in the French vice, he has an antipathic sexual Instinct, he's fluent in Polari, he's a refugee from Sodom, he's on the wrong bus, he bats for the other team, he's temperamental, he's 'one of if you catch my drift.
>>714102943I uh think I might pirate this on PC after all
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
>>714101343 (OP)Yes, it's definitely worth it.
Haven't had this much fun in a video game in years. DS1 was one of the best games I've ever played, and the sequel improved on everything, the mechanics and gameplay feel better and we have a lot of new fun tools and graphics/performance is great.
Don't care about the stroy so I don't know about that. I skipped a lot of cutscenes and dialogue in the first game because the disposition dumb and shitty writing were boring and I'm doing the same in the sequel.
>>714103061Pirate the Death Stranding 1 first to discover the hidden theme.
>>714101343 (OP)If you loved the first game then maybe if you aren't a poorfag. It's the same game but refined. The gameplay doesn't take a magical leap but it also doesn't throw it all out either which is good. I pretty much bought a ps5 in anticipation for it a couple years ago, and I haven't played much else on it. If it's literally the only game you want I'd wait for pc
Just know that modern consoles require a monthly subscription to use most of the features.
It is crazy how so many people "don't care" about this critical difference. I own a PS5, and since I stopped paying the subscription, the thing is basically useless.
>>714101343 (OP)>buy a PS5nothing is worth buying this crap
kill yourself shill
>>714101343 (OP)The game will come out on PC, so why even bother? By the time it does it will have content updates, DLC, patches, etc.
>>714103348>$60I actually paid $80 to play it two days earlier and support kijimbo
>inb4 poorfag cope
>>714101343 (OP)~28 hours in, the game is good. Even better than Death Stranding 1 in all but story (because I haven't finished it yet). Whether buying a console for one game is worth it, I can't answer for you.
>>714101818>>714102406I can't imagine playing this garbage.
>>714101343 (OP)>Is it "buy a PS5" good? It's good but it's not worth buying a console imo. Like 30+ hours into the game and it's on par with the first game, maybe slightly worse, some times slightly better.
I'd say just wait for PC release, you're not missing out
>>714102895>For really heavy loadsGet yourself two of the carriers, link 'em up and lug it on foot. Kino carrying huge loads across vast distances doing multiple orders at the same time like that. I think you can even link up 3 in DS2 so you can take even more on foot.
>>714101478I have 1730 hours on ETS2 and i love Death Stranding
Btw will it come to PC too ? I've heard something about it being released on PC six months later or so
So what happened with Hunter, what did she do what is her epic cutscene.
>>714101343 (OP)>t. bought the deluxe edition to play it earlyNo.
Kojima did a Druckmann and subverted my expectations by making me believe Sam would be happy with Fragile, but the gook just killed her off.
>>714101741The only thing tipping me towards it is GTA VI likely being a timed console exclusive - I think I'm going to struggle to wait for a PC release if it's as long as it took V to come to PC
>>714106150That's the next game, not DS2
>>714101818I member (I guess correctly) people shitting on Shenmue for being the granddaddy of the "walking simulator", but ded stranding took it to a literal level. I like walking but I dont know if Im willing to pay for a game that mainly iovolves slow walking because Im a glorified gig-worker-for-a-platform worker.
I would not be surprised that Uber, DiDi, doordash or other gig work platform actually sponsor this
>>714101343 (OP)the whole game is available free on twitch and youtube
>>714101343 (OP)>>714104984This game WILL come out on PC, likely in 3-6 months.
>>714101343 (OP)>Is it "buy a PS5" good?Yeah. The gameplay is addictive.
>>714101818You could go outside and do the same thing right now.
