The very bare most minimum that Stop Killing Games wants out of publishers and devs is the ability to continue use of software without relying on proprietary servers run by the publishers.

Something as simple as a server browser and the related binary is good enough. This isn't a monumental effort - being able to run a multiplayer was standard fanfare 25 years ago. It doesn't have to be user friendly - just give out the server software and let the 15 autists pick through it so they can play their dead game.

Examples of dead games that still have autists in them:

mostly singleplayer games with online components are. most modern shooter slop has a singleplayer campaign (often tied to servers) that this petition seeks to preserve. the crew was a good example where it was possible at one point to play offline (and it was supposedly a fun racing game in singleplayer) and then the offline component was taken out. if it had an end of life plan youd be able to keep racing by yourself and maybe a talented modder would let you send ghost files to your friends so you could try to geat eachothers prs. also gatchasloppers insist one or 2 of their games are good despite mtx so cheat engining an offline copy to give yourself more attempts or higher probability of rolling characters and upgrades would let us all see if a game was any good after theyve shut it down.
