The remake strategy seems strongly weighted towards corporate interests, rather than vidya enthusiast interests. For reference, whether you love or hate the concept of remakes, it's hard to bitch about someone paying $4 for something like the Crash Trilogy Remake (current sale price).

That's already happening because new IPs are too risky. Barely any game devs seem capable of making a new, resonating IP anymore so the choice is between constantly worse sequels until the IP becomes unprofitable, or remakes.

One weird thing is how sexual she is appearing in the new scene. The first scene darkens so much with the only light aspect being her face so you focus on it but it looks creepy because you can't see her eyes. Her body is darkened and positioned in a weird way that it feels off looking at her and what she's wearing seems very unappealing.

The dialog change like removing the Bruce Lee line (the replacement isn't bad, its just I'd prefer a 1:1 with graphical changes). What's plain to see is that the danger sign has less paint spread, which in the original could have been seen as being written in blood or at least in haste evoking a sense of either urgency or seriousness, to something carefully and slowly crafted with no care in the world. Original is her standing on a giant statue carved on a cliff above her hometown, demake is just a generic forest that they might have ripped from somewhere real. og pre-renders have harsh contrasting shadows and a otherworldly feel that is interesting to look at, modern graphics evokes nothing from the viewer, you could replace Yuffie with a real girl and the image would blend in with a million real life pictures on instagram nobody would notice.
